I disagree...I have no idea who won the NIT last year and I know I didn't watch more than 2 minutes of a game. Not that I remember who lost in the first four last year ether though. Maybe Ole Miss?

But we could easily win a first four game and that would definitely be some solid attention.

Don't get me wrong...I'd certainly watch the NIT if we made it and hell if we make the finals I'll be at MSG, but I'd much rather be a play in game

I'm torn between the two. Right now, I would rather lean to an NIT run to get as many wins as possible heading into the 2017 season. Losing in the NCAAT is not the end of the world because you can add that accomplishment to a resume. This team, this year, would probably be more equipped to make a run in the NIT compared to advancing to the 1st weekend in the NCAAT. Either or, it's national publicity and we will have 3 consectutive years in an effort to build a contender.

The downside of this is a potential first round NIT loss.

That's true... especially if we get a low seed.

Dawgs just a 1 point favorite against the suddenly hot bizzaro dogs tomorrow. Really hope we come out hot and don't look past this one at all. Miss State is a dangerous team.

Obviously our tournament hopes are slim. Two wins in Nashville gives us a shot.

Every small impact on our RPI matters. Here are some games today that could help or hurt us.

Baylor vs. Texas-need Baylor to win
Kansas State vs. Kansas-need KSU to win
Seton Hall vs. Creighton-need Seton Hall to win
Ole Miss vs. Bama-Need Ole Miss to win

We're currently 71 in the RPI (really 69 when you rule out the two ineligible teams in front of us).

I still think it's a long shot, but a win today and some help in the games listed above and we could be in the mid 60s heading into the game vs. South Carolina tomorrow.

Also need to cheer for Florida, GT and Ole Miss today. A win will do nothing for our RPI caus Miss St's RPI is too low but avoiding the bad loss (resume) and having some of these other teams win for our RPI would help.

Ole Miss is kinda of a double edge sword, isn't it?

St Mary's, Valpo, Wishitall St and Monmouth losing in their CTs doesn't help us a bit

Wichita was basically a lock before the MVC tourney but Valpo and Monmouth could be jumped with a good tourney run.

yes which means another MVC team will get the autobid = bad

true but they both will be in the convo while two other teams get an autobid

Not really. We played them twice and only played Bama once so it helps our RPI more for Ole Miss to win today. They are far enough behind us in the RPI (89 vs. 71) that there is no way they pass us and steal our bid if we do what we need to do (win at least two games in Nashville)

2 ain't gonna cut it. We need to win at least 3 and likely 4 to earn a bid.

That would be Northern Iowa, who also would have probably gotten an at large bid over UGA. UNI has beaten North Carolina, Iowa State and taken 2/3 from Wichita.

If Evansville had won the MVC final, it would have been bad.

Northern Iowa has an RPI of 69 and 12 losses in a mid major conference. They were not getting an at-large bid. Wichita probably will but some experts have them out, no way the Valley was gonna get 3 bids.

I know it's your use it or lose it timeout, but why did we call timeout when we were playing so well?

At that point just let it go.

We're playing well tonight. Aside from KG picking up 2 cheap fouls, you really couldn't ask for a better offensive performance thus far. I'm glad to see JJ getting his stroke back.

Still a lot of time left. Need to stay focused and stretch this out to about 20 and then get our major guys some rest
