Sounds about right

But I am with K9. I wanna read this after a loss. Not after a game that should have been a loss

Threads like that one are the reason that some "inside info" needs to stay "inside." Honestly, that is run of the mill behavior within an athletic department. Coaches bitch. It's what they do. They're ultra competitive and they want every advantage they can get. Pruitt is not "unhappy in Athens." Pruitt is facing adversity for the first time in his coaching career and he is trying to do anything he can to right the ship including making demands of things he wants or needs to be successful. Every coach in America asks that of their administration. Does the UGA adminstration have some bugs up its arse? Most likely. But we've known that for a while. This is nothing new.

I'd like to think Pruitt can have a James Franklin-esque impact even more than he already has. Change the administration's philosophy and thought process.

That said I see your points. I'm not even in the mood to be mad about conjecture like usual so whatever

I actually had a group of uga students and some young alumni try to convince me yesterday that only students and alumni should be allowed to buy uga shirts and merchandise because they were the true fans and had earned their right. So I'm a bit more concerned about that elitist mentality apparently infesting a key portion of our fan base than anything Pruitt might have possibly, maybe told someone in frustration before that person told a guy and that guy told another guy who then rushed to the interwebs to "ask" if anyone else had heard about how Pruitt hated Athens and how our administration is just the worst. Sometimes it feels like there's no winning with the people in Athens

Yea. And that's obnoxious as frick. I know more Georgia fans who are actual fans, have followed the program, and know what's going on that didn't go to UGA than the dweebs who went. If anything I am usually more leery of Georgia fans who went to Georgia because they probably became fans when they saw those fireworks on that webpage.

I think that they sometimes forget that the university of Georgia was servicing the families that have lived in this state for centuries long before the hope scholarship changed thing dramatically. Or that the land upon which the university rests is owned by the state and people of Georgia because, you know, it's a public university controlled by a state board of regents. Or that the Arch was and is the symbol of the state before the university. I'm a vey chill sumbitch IRL but that shite had me on edge yesterday. It wasn't just one ignorant a-hole; it was an entire group of walking, talking sphincters in full agreement that their farts should be bottled and sold to the less fortunate

Anyone else following this thread on 247? Can only read about 1/2 the posts since I'm not a member but it's pretty interesting. Wonder how much truth is in the OP's rumor? Kinda surprised they've let it go for 5 pages, they're usually pretty strict on unfavorable rumors...

I think "Birdie Dawg"(only 4 posts on 247 and just joined 3 months ago) = jrljrjjjlljr.

He's over on the Auburn recruiting board saying the exact same thing.

It's always chapped my arse hearing what our students say. Between the stupid meme that was popular that showed Sanford and Drew Carrey and it said "Sanford Stadium, where the party is continual and the points don't matter." Yes they do. I get mad when they come in all optimistic and tell me I am a shitty fan for being cynical or because I say GT is a rival. Not main one but a rival in general.

There's other things but what always got me was the arrogance of the students. I got into UGA so I must be hot shite and I have a way better degree than my friends! Well, yea, GSU is dog shite and AU ain't the same but our university is catching up to admission standards and not vice versa. Having transferred into UGA from a better school (same admission standards, mind you, but they haven't relied on HOPE to become what they are and they have been good for a while) it kind irked me seeing everything that is said. I am not any more intelligent than anyone at UGA and there are a shitload smarter than me but I have seen the other side and Georgia aint Harvard. Yall aren't the special little gems momma told ya you were. You worked hard in HS and it paid off but you aren't going to Vandy. You're at Georgia. And the school and football program are bigger than you and your desire to rub your less intelligent/diligent friend's nose in it.

My sisters go to the cow college on the plains and I give them shite all the time just because that's who we are and I hate Auburn. But the angriest I have ever been with fellow students is when they had some mutual friends from UGA stay with them and after we lost the game they went on Facebook mocking the campus, their intelligence, etc. It was a slap to their face and I became the little internet knight that I am and blasted the bitches. Petty on my part but it's the arrogance that got me.

Wow, this turned into a helluva rant.

Mrs Durden was a transfer to UGA once upon a time and she caught shite for it because, somehow, living in one of the dorms on campus apparently changes everything. Apparently she is like a half breed in uga purists eyes. frick those people and the small dicked horse they rode in on

sure our ADept has had issues, and probably still does, but Pruitt is absolutely changing the way we do things from what I've heard from other staff members. I won't get into specifics because it's not relevant, but a guy who works on the team told me just a few examples of little "loophole" type things (if you want to call it that) in recruiting that others have done for years that we never have, that we are starting to do now. When you're so far behind the 8 ball, it's not gonna happen overnight. But at least we're finally playing some ball now.

And that's why I know this is BS. We have already changed so much because of him and we've Already improved because of it. If he's pissy about not having enough private jets, it's a minimal gripe

Hell, we're building an IPF now. That's not coincidence

Ya...i really hate all the negativity coming from "purists". I'm not from the state but went to UGA after high school and got shite sometimes. It didn't make any sense to me. It was mostly from Atlanta Allstars that had 1990s falcons flatbills trying to impress anyone they could find. All "had been fans since the day they were born." I hate sidewalk fans as much as the next guy, but these types of people are much worse.

ETA: meant bandwagon fans.

Oh yea. I got shite for the same thing. But that didn't bug me until they tried to "explain" Georgia football to me. That is my #1 pet peeve probably in the world.

All that shite pisses me off to no end, too. Now, can we get some recruiting news before I get good and pissed off before going home to the old lady?

Not to continue bitching about the purists, etc but it would be interesting to see where a lot of the big donations come from. I'm sure plenty of them are alumni but I bet a decent amount are from non-alums too. Anyone that doesn't want there to be as many UGA fans as possible (ok, maybe limit some of the embarrassing jackasses like the Updykes and all, I'd rather them not represent my alma mater) is an idiot. That's just more money to pour into the athletic dept.

Let tech fans be the ones to worry about carding their fans to make sure they're alums before they're allowed to be fans. Hell, I was also pissed when they went to student tickets on IDs, I had no problem with students selling tickets to non-students, all I care about is the stadium being full.

Rumors. Who knows? And they make too much of the recruiting budget. Look where Texas A&M is budget wise...or LSU...both have MUCH lower budgets.

Hard to say what to make out of it, but I do not get upset over rumors.
