Teams that will be heavily favored against us: Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss
Teams that will be extremely challenging: Tennessee, UCLA, Arkansas, and Auburn
We should be better than Mississippi State and South Carolina.
Then, we have 3 creampuff Ws with New Mexico State, Prairie View, and UTSA.
Somebody show me 9 wins. I hope we get there but I just don't see it with this team. And if we have less than 9 wins, Sumlin will not survive.

UCLA and Arkansas will be decent teams, but not when we face them early in the season. They along with Ole Miss were among teams most impacted by early NFL draft declarations.
I haven't done much investigation into next year's Auburn team, but we should be on par with them.
I see at least 7 wins on this schedule. Auburn (away) is a swing game. I think Tennessee and Ole Miss are swing games too.
LSU will be a "wild card". I believe they are over-recruiting and will have some "upheaval" between now and the start of next season. The administration wanted to fire the head coach and this will not go away. They have lost 2 defensive coordinators in two successive years and just lost the running back coach/recruiting coordinator. There are also rumors of additional staff leaving after they get their signing day bonuses. John Diarse, Ronnie Feist, and Hanner Shipley have quietly left the program recently. They are going to have to get rid of few more kids too.

Alabama, South Carolina, Ole Miss, UCLA, and Arkansas (for some reason not appearing in the article below) were among the most impacted by early entry into the NFL.
You have to assume Bama is always going to be great, though they did lose a bunch of coaches. Ole Miss had a great class this year, but they had a crap classes (#15 and #17) the last 2 years...lol.

You can argue that the loss of Ifedi may hurt us more than them because they have "next men up" while we don't.
Here is what we lost after the 2015 season:
2,924 out of our 3,323 passing yards (88%)
22 out of our 25 passing TDs (88%)
1,796 out of our 2,198 rushing yards (81.7%)
11 out of our 13 rushing touchdowns (84.6%)
Our leading scorer (Bertolet) and 3-year starting punter (Kaser)
3 starters off of a BAD offensive line (the entire right side)

I don't think the schedule is that bleak. Going .500 or better in Conference is the key.
But we will have to win some games that we aren't favored in. All teams are faced with that challenge.

Considering we play like we're at home on the road and on the road at home, this schedule is probably actually good for us.

Yeah, every now and then he'll start weird foot fetish threads on tOTB.
Be glad you missed them

I don't agree at all. Ifedi was a liability at OT. He should have been playing OG.

Under Mazzone, he might have.
Now we're having to replace the entire right side and center on an already bad offensive line with our two likely starters on the left side being horribly overrated seniors.
