Why I think the 2016 A&M team will be the best since 2012

If Trevor Knight comes in an plays up to his ability, he will be best passer at since manziel. He's very good and has an arm too. A&M will have the weapons around him that he needs

Secondly, Chavis will be in his 2nd season and will have two really good defensive linemen back (Hall and Garrett). They will provide the foundation of what was already an improved defense in 2015.

Third, if the new OC opens it up and goes back to attacking vertically, that will also be a plus

Forgot to mention, o line will be the X factor. It must improve or they will continue to struggle.

Basically, if Knight comes in and does well (which he can with the receivers on offense and someone like sumlin coaching him up), the defense improves even more (gets a bit faster and more physical) and the new OC gets back to truly attacking defenses, then I think A&M could be the dark horse for the best team Bama will face in the 2016 regular season.

What do you think A&M fans?

Not with this offensive line.

Honestly I expect a great season next year but not because of anything you wrote. Or anything logical at all.

The best argument for 2016 is: we always do best when no one expects it out of us. We do our worst when we are the ones expected to win "the big game."

Which means we would kindly appreciate if you wouldn't be positive about our chances next year. Please join the narrative that we will be at the bottom of the SEC West so we can have a chance.

You think feet are sexier than boobs.....

Are you really qualified to evaluate our football team?

The best team since 2012 isn't a very high bar to clear. As good as the 2013 offense was, the defense that year was atrocious.

Our defense will be better pretty much across the board, I think. Offensively, the skill positions will perform better, too. As stated, the potential stumbling block will be the OL, though we have recruited some talent over the past couple of years. We'll see what Mazzone can get out of them.

D Moore leaving early was about as bad of luck as we had had recently.

Wasn't just Damontre Moore leaving early. Kirby Ennis tearing his ACL during the Arkansas game made it that much worse.

This. We were thinking 7 win tops going into 2012.

Except the expectations were low in 2014 and 2015 and we MET those expectations.

A competent OC, QB, and several scholarship running backs will definitely be a positive change for this team.

Trevor Knight is not that good. He's erratic and inaccurate, and frequently struggled passing the ball against some of the bottom half defenses in the Big 12. He's a backup quality qb.

It's Hubenak or bust next year.

Next year we will be riding a train that is headed off the cliff. I think everyone knows that Sumlin will be on a very hot seat come fall. Combine that with a very lackluster recruiting class, and you have a good recipie for regime change in December.

Next season ain't gonna be pretty.

I have zero expectations for next season.

Just gonna sit back and observe whatever happens.

Nah, not really.

When people predict Texas A&M won't make a bowl is when it's time to expect a 10 win season.

We could be better than expected next year. Our offensive problems began and ended with the OL last year (though the play calling did them no favors), and that group has the talent to play much better than they did.

Now the OL isn't going to be good (just not awful) and LBs will still be a problem, so we aren't going to contend for the conference or anything, but it isn't a given that we're going to be a roaring dumpster fire.
