Welp, it's an open qb competition again and Spavital is still the play caller...

According to press conference. The starter will be named Friday. Not sure if that's just to the team or the media as well.

Edit: other news of note is that sumlin stated there will be changes made offensively. Obviously he didn't go into specifics on said changes.

Kevin Sumlin better redeem himself or he's going to lose a lot of support very soon

People expecting Spav to lose the OC job right now are out of their minds.

If the offense tanks against USCe, THEN it might happen. But right now? Sorry, no chance.

Man.

I thought Sumlin was smarter than that. He is playing with a lit blow torch and fricking thermite.

I hope he knows that his tenure at A&M will be all but over if he comes out with that shame shite offense, trying to force a non-existent running game.

Not that I expected him to be fired or anything, but he's been a problem for more than the past two weeks. He did the exact same thing last year when we started to have trouble. I understand the calls for his head.

Not really. I don't think firing him and having Christensen call plays the rest of the year is that crazy. Obviously it wasn't happening this week since it was already Tuesday but if they wait until

Sumlin is really going to have his arse out on the line going into next season

Is that really an upgrade though? Out of our hires last offseason I feel like his unit has done the worst this season. Maybe that is just due to missing on OL recruits the previous years, I don't know.

Can it get any worse? I'm not saying we would keep him as OC long term or anything

and I just named Christensen because he has past playcalling experience. IDGAF who takes over, I just want someone to take over

This is a responsibility that Sumlin should take on himself if he wants to keep coaching at A&M. Take play-calling responsibilities away from Spav and do the job himself.

Unless, he has not been paying enough attention to the team as he should have been. That salary is looking more and more wasteful if true.

Maybe.

I mean Spav has shown he can beat teams when we for certain have more talent. There are three teams like that left on the schedule. If he can just luck his way through an Auburn win on top we are left with a best case scenario for the season from this point.

I don't like the idea of Christensen being OC unless that is a permanent move, and I don't like it as a permanent move (I would rather get an OC in the market next offseason). If we promote him now, then demote him later, then we are left with a situation like we have with our RB coach (who should also be replaced after this offseason).

It's true. TexAgs has melted down over Spaz-it-all still being the play-caller. This is simultaneous funny and righteous, because I am also very disappointed that Spaz-it-all will still be calling plays.
