Are you really going to compare UConn and A&M basketball as if sanctions would have the same impact? That's like saying Texas football losing 3 scholarships to a violation is just as damaging as if it happened to Kentucky football. One program is clearly more equipped to deal with an embarrassment such as that than the other.
Never mind that UConn lost Roscoe Smith to UNLV, Alex Oriakhi to Mizzou, and Jim Calhoun was forced into retirement over it. It also is one more negative BC can throw on UConn to continue to block their entrance to the ACC.

Not at all sure what you are basing this on. The fact they are in the Final Four??? RC correctly lays out the athletic impact but the academic impact has zero to do with any of that even

Dude, sometimes I wonder about you.
Athletics is viewed positively by the faculty as long as it places the University in a positive light. It's a university, not a professional sports club. If athletics helps market A&M to prospective students, grad students, and helps them foster relationships and get research grants, they are going to be very very pro-athletics.
If athletics is casting the entire university in a negative light, they will flat out be adversarial and that's not good for anyone. This shouldn't be tough to understand.

Wally Groff is a good man and a good Aggie but you are completely delusional if you think Hyman belongs in the same conversation. I remember listening to Groff get excited because he got to sit in the same meetings with DeLoss Dodds on occasion. Groff took forever to get Reed built and when he did he did it on the cheap because he could get a few bucks from the Leg. He allowed us to keep Tony Barone and then hired Melvin Watkins.
Hyman has his flaws but some of you guys need to settle down and get some perspective. Making statements like this just destroys your credibility.

I like to think I'm pretty loyal, willing to let things play out, and level headed for the most part. However I have had more than enough of Hyman & BK. They has proven themselves to be about as useless as possible. I really hope there is change in the recent future. We need more Sumlins, Henrys, and Blairs.

You're right. Hyman is more like Franchione than Groff.

Byrne is the one who cared about Kyle being sold out. When Groff was in charge we only sold out Kyle when we played Texas every other year.
In the Groff era we had Tony Barone and Melvin Watkins with 1 NIT appearance between them and 2 winning seasons. We were bad at just about every sport and we allowed Texas and OU to lap us in facilities.
As I said, Hyman is not in that same conversation.
