If I was a student during Turge I would have stopped attending games too after the first time he whined about attendance after a loss.
Attendance now looks good compared to the Watkins days

I really couldnt stand turdgeon. His points about fan support were extremely valid, but the way he always bitched about it made you want to punt puppies. I was happy to see him go.

That OU game in 09 when they were #1 in the country with Blake Griffin was rowdy as frick also. I remember him struggling hard from the free throw line and our fans going bonkers every time he missed one

He just approached it the wrong way. The way Bruce Pearl attacks it is the way to go. If you try to guilt college kids into coming they're just going to tell you to frick off

you can not complain when you have an underachieving team that shite in bed in every important occasion

I remember coming to a game in what I think was Turge's last year. A buddy of mine got off work early and drove in from Austin to see us beat a bad OSU team I think. The game was just watching paint dry. Very slow paced and tons of fouls and turnovers. Basically no fast breaks or play above the rim. The team seemed to be doing just enough to beat a bad team and slowly put them away in the 2nd half.
I remember telling my buddy toward the end of the game that we would likely now get home around midnight on a Wednesday and get to hear Turge bitch about the lack of support from the home crowd and all we could talk about is how it shouldn't feel like an obligation to go see a team play.
Why they haven't been able to get students to be excited about games boggles me though. I mean it's a 2 hour game right on campus. How can they not outreach and get people excited about going? Do they not do surveys to figure out what would get students to walk a couple of blocks to see a game instead of watching TV? Make people want to come. I mean we can't get 10% of students that show up to football games to come to basketball. Figure out the disconnect.

And worse every year.
They really are. Even for football games they seem out of touch.

I witnessed "The shot" in person.
After that I was at the game when AC and Durant went back and forth.
THAT was the loudest event I have ever been to. The last 3 minutes were completely crazy. Could not hear the person next to me speak

I think you are mis remembering. That game happened in Austin. The KD came to CS, Acie Law and co whipped his arse at Reed.

the students weren't the ones that left massive chunks of Kyle empty last year.

Blaming a younger generation is lazy imo. There's a reason most football programs are seeing attendance decline or increases slow, and it's not just the students. The comforts of home have been cutting into live attendance everywhere.

They said the same thing about me 8 years ago. Rinse and repeat. Its not the students.

100 yes, but they had more than 75 right?

I'll have to look it up. I vividly remember us hitting a three pointer to get to 100, and I know we beat 'em handily, but I'll look it up to verify.
ETA: Correction: score was 100-82
