Yeah this one is pretty much done I think

The amount of drops is mind boggling

$5 million dollar coached teams shouldn't play with this sort of basic ineptitude.

Harris getting picked on both these games

Devante Harris is just as bad as Dustin Harris.

It will continue all year

This is terrible

100% certain I'd play better at DB than Harris
I also wouldn't drop the fricking ball on 4 straight targets

Time to pull Hill and put Allen in.

yea, ignoring open RBs all game really hurt.
there were several times Hill went for a deeper pass when just tossing it to the RB could have gotten us a 5ish yards and shorter 3rd down.

I was coaching soccer for a lot of the game, but it sounds like if our WRs caught half their drops this game would have been a world of different. I blame the new, stupid icy white gloves

The problem is that even when Hill makes an accurate throw (which was rare today) he throws such wobbly passes that it forces receivers to catch them with their body instead of their hands.

This is a solid point. I wonder how many of the drops have to do with the type of ball he throws. Not to mention even on completions there seems to be a lot of stretching for the ball behind or in front or down low of the receiver instead of hill being able to place the ball in a good spot to allow receievers to catch in stride and make a play, at least in this game specifically.
Ultimately I feel that the thread title is accurate and we just need to adjust what our expectations for the season will be. It's becoming apparent that the Carolina win, against a team that's showing to be inconsistent at best, doesn't have quite the shine that it did initially. If we can fight our way to 8 wins this season I'll be pleased, but I wouldn't be surprised with a 7 win season.

Hill is a good QB but we have to remember, he's still learning and developing as well. The play calling I thought wasn't great by Spavital and not kicking the field goal on that 4th and 2 wasn't a smart play. The play itself was absurd and energized their defense. Really set the tone for the game afterwords. There were a lot of drops, and out pass pro wasn't spectacular either.
Defensively, our D-line was good, but linebackers were terrible, especially Mastrogiovanni. WTF IS this diving for ankles crap? Be a real MIKE, fill the gap, and hit someone between the nbrs, dammit.
And our secondary wasn't great either. Devante Harris just isn't physically mature to play adequate press coverage. They picked on him all day long. He'd try to jam, and they would be ineffective every time. Just run any route they wanted, no problem. Time to bring Victor Davis back. He, at least, could do that kind of thing.

What I see is this:
1. How did Hill win a state title with as bad as he throws beyond 10 yards?
2. If Mark Snyder is still the DC next year, I see defensive recruits looking elsewhere.

This right here.
Second week in a row where we've gone for it on 4th and short well within fg range and run some retarded-arse play that didn't have a prayer of getting the first.
