How long is Springer going to be out? I saw 15-day DL, but no further projections.

I think he got hit with a fastball and then exacerbated it with a head first slide.

They surprised me with this series. I always love watching them in Baltimore. Never been in that park but it is one of my favorites. Now the O'S need to kick butt.

'stros with Altuve & Keuchel in for the ASG. Altuve is starting and Keuchel is the most deserving starter (who knows if he'll get it or not).

What happened to the Rangers? They were only a few games back not that long ago and now when I check the standings they're 7 back.

My O's have been in a total state of suckage the last 2 weeks. Hosting the Nats this weekend, trying to stay above .500 at the break. Fun to watch Manny Machado and Bryce Harper go at it for 3 games.

We have crapped the bed ever since the series in Baltimore. I hope we can sweep and get to .500 before the break

As an Aggie and as an Astros fan, I'd like to make the following observation...

Batting averages through July 11:

P Michael Wacha .188

1B Chris Carter .187

It's hard to bench Carter when your replacement is Jon Singleton, who currently sports a .120 average.

The All-Star break can't get here soon enough: the Astros have scored 4 total runs in their past 5 games.

Its been rough. We need a break, a mix up, and some health quickly.

Anyone know when Jed will be back? We could use his bat.

I also think its time move on from Carter. He just strikes out too damn much. Sure he could get hot and start dropping bombs but its almost not worth it if you have to put up with 2/3 of the season where he's batting sub .200.

I really hate that Singleton went to the crapper. I really thought he and Springer were our future.

It might to time to bring Kemp up. He's a midget like Altuve, but at least he hits the damn ball.

And, the O's lose 2 out of 3 to the Nats to finish .500 at the break. Ran into Max Sherzer today.

A return at the end of July or early in August seems likely. Lowrie’s progressed to hitting on the field while taking flips, but has yet to hit against live pitching as he builds strength in his surgically repaired right hand.

“I’m not a doctor, but I feel like he’s answered every step along the way that they’ve asked him to do,” Hinch said. “We haven’t had to shut him down, we haven’t had to alter the plan. We haven’t had to take a detour of any sort, so, that seems, on schedule to me.”

Lowrie’s going to head to the Astros’ spring training complex in Kissimmee, Fla., during the All-Star break. It hasn’t been decided yet whether he’ll remain there once the regular season resumes after the All-Star break or meet up with the big-league team immediately. He’ll, of course, need a minor league rehab assignment eventually.
