Now for a little Astros discussion. I am actually excited this year. I think .500 is a must and will probably be a few games over it baring major injuries. Just look at the potential line up.

1. Altuve - batting champ
2. Springer - budding star
3. Valbuena - 3rd base offseason acquisition. .776 OPS last year.
4. Carter - tons of Ks, but had 37 homers last year.
5. Lowrie - solid vet and only keeping Correa's seat warm until Sept, if not sooner.
6. Gattis - huge potential with some real power.
7. Castro - if he can return to 2013 all star form then watch out.
8. Rasmus - hell of an 8 hole, still young (27)
9. Marisnick - only real question mark, but a strong prospect still.

Potentially great lineup. Expect a ton of strikeouts between Springer, Carter, and Gattis. But expect tons of power as well.

If McHugh and Keuchel can pitch like they did last year, and we get solid contributions from Feldman, Obie, and maybe someone like Asher Woj, we can certainly be a .500 team. But pitching definitely seems to be the question mark to me

Going from avg to great season really depends on our starting pitching. If we can just match last year then I will be pumped.

Last year we had hands down the worst pen in baseball.. well maybe Colorado too. We lead in blown saves with 26 and only saved 57% of our oppertunities. With a healthy Qualls and the addition of Gregerson (new closer?) and Neshek.

I am really curious about Appels development too. As a former college pitcher, he should be up this year.

I would be pretty surprised if they bring up Correa this year unless they're in the thick of a race for a playoff spot, which I don't expect. He's yet to take a single AB at AA. He will likely be in the same spot next year Bryant is in now where they send him down for a couple weeks to start 2016 to play the arb game. Lowrie should slide nicely into a super sub role once Correa comes up.

I think 75-80 wins is pretty likely. There is going to be some regression from the rotation and possibly from Carter and Altuve, but the upgraded pen, 3B and a healthy Springer should add some wins. Next year is the year they should really be looking to contend with Appel probably starting his first full year (I think he's up mid 15 at some point), Correa on his way up, more experience and hopefully a big rotation signing (Jordan Zimmerman please).

Regardless I'm excited and hopefully they can exceed my expectations for this season.

Not an Orioles fan, only been to Baltimore once for a day-trip, got to Camden Yards though and it is a really cool park.

It really is a great park.
I'm optimistic about the O's chances this year.

Camden Yards is probably my favorite "new era" park that I've been to. Pittsburgh is great as well. Still haven't done San Fran but I'm hoping to hit the left coast next summer

I may or may not check in at random to ask you baseball nerds questions about games.

Have always wanted to see a game at Chavez Ravine. Oldest son lives in LA. I need to make that happen.

I too give Camden Yard at Oriole Park a thumbs up.

My "senior trip" after HS was a basebal tour for me and my old man. We flew into Chicago, saw the city, went to Wrigley, then hit the road. We made stops at Notre Dame, Cleveland, Baltimore, Baseball HOF, NY for Shea and Old Yankee, and ended at Fenway in Boston. Hands down Fenway and Wrigley trumped any other park I've ever been to. Yankee did not compare. You could tell they did too many renovations. Shea was worst than the dome. Complete shite hole. As a Houston fan you can see how many ideas "Enron" stole from Camden.
