WTF!?!?
I can't express my loathing for Hyman in words. Goodness gracious! Why even have an AD?

not sure what some of you expected.
it's a neutral site game so we were never going to get SEC refs.
the refs that live nearby who would be next in the pecking order are Big 12 refs.

Say what you will about Wally - the man was NOT an visionary athletic director and definitely left us way behind in terms of facilities which had a lot to do with Brown & Stoops getting the jump on us - but he was an Aggie who cared about A&M and wouldn't have stood for the shenanigans that Hyman has allowed to go down.
Can you imagine Bill Byrne letting this happen? Not in a million years. That guy had his faults, but he was a fighter.

Was hoping we'd get B1G refs or something.

Yeah I don't know how these things are typically negotiated but I assume SEC and PAC officials are off limits, and the only ones that would make sense would be Big 12 or I guess maybe C USA or AAC (if those last two are even options).
I'm also one of those people that rarely believes in officials losing games for teams or conspiracy theories though so my opinion probably won't be popular

DUH.
But you don't think it's incumbent on our AD to insist that the refs don't come from a conference that we publicly spurned, whose refs - had it not been able to hold itself together for a few more years - could have been out of the job because of us? B12 refs cannot be expected to be impartial when we almost torpedoed their conference a few years ago.
There are other - neutral - conferences with refs we could have contracted to work this game - the ACC or B1G.
Hyman is just collecting a check from us. Nothing more. Some of y'all need to wake up.

good lord some of y'all bitch about the stupidest shite
We use Big 12 officials in our scrimmages fyi. If he had a choice, I think this is the league of officials Sumlin would probably request. I doubt we had any say in the matter though as I think the Texas Bowl people that put this on hire the officials from a neutral conference.

The Big 12 had better football officiating than the SEC. Yes, I said it. The level of officiating in the SEC is really not befitting of how top notch everything else is in the conference IMO

Not when we are playing against a team from a conference that just tried to lure nearly all the worthwhile Big 12 schools into a Pac 16 which absolutely would have led to several Big 12 refs getting fired due to so many games no longer being played in Texas and the Midwest.

You don't know this at all. You don't know anything about their availability or who even is paying them. It's very likely that the games organizers made the decision on how much would be spent on refs.
As for your second claim, that is nothing more than silly internet fodder that some of you have repeated to each other enough that you have deluded yourselves into believing it.
Complaining about this and acting like Hyman has somehow failed to protect A&M is about as dumb as people who are bitching about Obama siding with Alaskan's wishes to change the name of Mt McKinley back to Denali.

I'm not an officiating conspiracy theorist. There were certainly times when we were in that conference that we were screwed over by an official who was a fan of tu, but I never bought into the idea that all officials had that same bias.
I think we should consider something else though. There are a lot of officials who see the SEC as the big show and want to get in. There is incentive to call a good game.

I agree. Slive was a slick one.

I don't really care where the officials come from, I just want Garrett to get holding calls this year.
Hyman is a terrible AD for a multitude of other reasons.

Enough of them were. Both Bible and Randy Crystal's crews were helmed by UT fans and it showed. We lost the 2011 UT game on a call made by a UT fan who had a TexAgs account he used for talking shite to us.

What a shitty analogy.
Hyman sat on the selection committee for the NCAA baseball tournament. In that capacity, he refused - and has publicly admitted so - to advocate for A&M, his current employer, to host the Super Regional and allowed it to go to TCU - his former employer and daughter's alma mater - instead, despite A&M having the better resume. He then showed up to the game in a TCU purple shirt and took photos with TCU boosters.
frick Eric Hyman.

In a surprise result, Texas wins the game late on a questionable call.

perish the thought of an AD w/an obvious conflict of interest recusing himself.
if the shoe was on the other foot an an AD lobbying against A&M for their school while sitting the committee you'd be pitching up a shite storm about that being unfair too.

Indeed. I understand people being pissed about Kennedy but every other reason that Hyman is supposedly terrible I don't get.
