Some rumors on ** that Buzz actually reached out to A&M. Of course, its a rumor but if this were true then my support for Hyman completely ends.

We should picket outside his office if that's true.

Welcome to the anti-Hyman club.
And no, that isn't a gay club, despite the name.

Stolen from TA because it is a perfect summation of my opinion on the matter

At this juncture, since Pearl and Buzz are no longer options, when a change is made...hell, we'll still go mid major, because we always do.

It actually doesn't matter if it is true or not that Buzz reached out to us because, as I posted in the other thread, it is a FACT that Buzz took a pay-cut from $3MM to $2.3MM to go to Va Tech and his buyout was only $100,000. So he was VERY available, had our AD been doing his job by reaching out TO BUZZ.

Just about every coach is available for the right price. Do you have any reason to believe we could have come up with $2.3m for a basketball coach? What about his staff (and various other promises VT made)?
We pay Kennedy like $1m and the severance on him and his staff is about $1m. I'm pissed bc I think a guy like Buzz will more than pay for himself. But ADs generally don't work that way because that's how you get fired (if it doesn't work out). They want money in hand before making a move.
Our donor base is pretty stretched right now. Our big donors have stepped up in a huge way for football and facilities in the last year. One has even stepped up for Reed renovations. But no one has for a new coach. Btw, I know there were some that were very pissed they were asked for lockerroom money so quickly after Kyle.

Buzz wanted out of Marquette and would have taken almost any contract because he Is leavin them a dumpster fire, and with possible recruiting violations.

Did they really refer to t.u. losing in the first round as "cbi success"?!

good god this team just cant shoot FTs
they would probably have won tonight and won a 4 or 5 more during the year if they didn't suck so hard at what should be the easiest shot in the game.

Good riddance to that season.

I don't care about t.u. I do care about TAMU. And tonight's game looked like pigs in slop between two teams who were playing like it was a third place game in a meaningless tournament in November.
Get ready for more of the same in '14-'15. This ain't working and our AD needs to go.

Our offense is laughable. Nobody on our team has any idea what to do or what we're trying to accomplish. Kennedy really, really needs a pink slip

The ineptitude on display tonight was absolutely priceless. Time and time again we made boneheaded plays that were so stunningly stupid, it was hard to fathom. I'd have gotten pissed off if some of that crap was happening in a pickup game.
There were two perfect moments. First, the last play of the first half, in which Caruso drove, kicked the ball to Jones, who was clearly not open, resulting in Jones making a half hearted attempt to create space before launching a tightly contested fade away three pointer from about 25'. That's the best you got Kennedy? Figures.
The second moment was when fabyon fell on the ball and just sorta flopped around on the court before trying to stand up. Obviously, he get whistled for a travel. This was with two minutes left or so, aka crunch time in a close game. We keep finding innovative ways to screw games up. It's pretty amazing. This of course overlooks the fact that Illinois State played like absolute shite tonight. In the last 5 minutes, they ran a few effective P&Rs because Roberson had anti-flubber on his shoes, but other than that, they just sorta dribbled the ball out. On a few occasions, I honestly thought they were just going to eat the shot clock violation.
In sum, this game was a definitive statement by Kennedy - "Mr. Hyman, I have no intention of ever achieving anything at A&M." Maybe, just maybe, Hyman was listening.
