Graduating in 2015 and you picked Dat for your avatar... , young man!

I'd like to eventually get my Masters in Safety Engineering , and A&M offers it, but I'm likely to remain a tshirt fan for quite some time. :/

Ideally, I'd like to end up in the Houston area after graduation. Hopefully for a company with a continuing education program.

I'm a tshirt. Was accepted. Had scholarships.

Put the p on a p and chose to go to Angelo State instead.

Every single one of those schools, with the exception of Virginia Tech, has had some pretty hard times over the last 20 years.

Yeah, a huge chunk of the Rant are T-shirt or sidewalk fans. If you are looking to troll few subjects hit home harder. Sorry if I blast anywho here along the way (Tbird) but you have to maintain a tone.

I know you're still a student but this is still dumbassery
30% of the seats in Kyle field are filled with "T shirt fans"

I have a degree, just not from my first and best true love, Texas A&M

It's all good, you know I don't care

Everyone has a perspective, and there's a grain of truth to both the alum and sidewalk sides, IMO.

I just maintain my stance that as long as a sidewalker/bandwagoner doesn't start running academic smack, it's all fair game with sports shite talking. But that's just me.

I have always found the t-shirt/sidewalk discussion to be odd. My dad could not afford to go to A&M back when he was of age but could go to Tarleton. So that is where he went. But he always loved the Ags and is who I got my love of A&M from before I had any personal experience with the school etc.

I personally have no problem with folks who support our school who also never had the chance or chose a different route for various reasons. It always irked me when someone would try and bring up this subject in divisive ways. It smacks of elitism.

Absolutely not. The caste system TA loves to expand is terrible. So you're a second class fan because you didn't take classes on the A&M campus, which has nothing/very little to do financially or academically with the athletic department? That's bullshite. If you publicly state your fandom of A&M athletics, you get the same shite dumped on you as if you went to the school but didn't graduate. Are you going to tell a 5 year old boy that he can't support the Ags because he hasn't gone to the college yet?

I don't like it, but I get it. Sips have always been the "golden child" amongst non college attending fans because of their success. Band wagoners gonna bandwagon

I personally don't think that exception is valid, as the T-Shirts very rarely talk academic smack because they often don't value the academic connection. They treat university sports programs as the same thing as pro-team brands, and that disconnect is half of my problem with those sorts of fans.

Sarge was close, but I will stop dancing around it:

If you are an adult non-college graduate who bases a disportionate part of your self-esteem, aka to the point you think you are better than alums of other programs, on a program that just happened to be in the same state that you were born then you are what is wrong with college sports.

I appreciate the fact that not every state has a pro-team, and people can have strong connections to colleges they didn't attend. But just because you were born in Texas and you like cows doesn't give you the right to do the "Pooor Agggggie" bit with me. If you want to talk down my Saints fandom as a Cowboy fan that is fine, but the second you try to insult my university/program when you haven't stepped in the classroom of ANY university is the exact second that I should hit you with my car or fire you from mowing my lawn.

And I am sticking to that. Sidewalk mouthbreathers need to stick to pro teams, I don't care if that means the SEC/A&M makes less money. I am serious when I say I wouldn't take Bama's success if that meant taking the Harvey's with it.

I still feel like I owe you an in-person apology (for making light of your religion) before I deserve to be on your friend list anyway.

As a 2%er former student I feel I am a ripe target for being called a hypocrite BTW. I have non-rational venom in my veins on this issue after attending a UT branch school for my MBA.

Are you implying that I am only nice to you to get tickets?

Because that would be very perceptive. ;)
