Auburn was hell bent on keeping him in the pocket and also did a lot of late LB coverage drops to confuse a young QB. They really did game plan him well.

Did you miss the Auburn game?

Yes I did and Auburn game planned a young QB in his second start very well. That's usually what happens to a freshman once teams get some tape on them. Even then, A&M did have a lot of success moving the ball. Ultimately they crashed and burned b/c of 3 INTs (2 on Kyler, 1 on Ratley) and a turnover on downs where they suddenly couldn't gain a single yard in 3 downs. It wasn't like they were stuck in the mud the entire game.

Against Western Carolina A&M could have very well run the ball every single play and won. Their D couldn't stop any of our backs when push came to shove. So again, I think the coaching staff likely used the WC game as if it was a scrimmage so they could work on things that Kyler was having trouble in the second half of USCe and all game vs Auburn.

You have a lot more confidence in the offensive staff than I do.
