Why bring facts into a good whine fest? Don't you know that we make our own reality here?

He did call 3 slants, and that was the first time in a long time I've seen a slant.

I wouldn't call it good, but it seemed better. As others have said, it was nice to see some slants.

My point was that plays were working. Not that he called the exact same plays. Everything looks better when it is working.

I think last week Tra had ~7 catches for 10 yards. This week he got that on 1 screen. Our running backs were averaging ~5 yards a carry this week. Last week was about 3.5.

For the record, I do not want Jake as our OC, but not because of play calling. The OC job is much bigger than just calling plays.

It was the best flow of an offense that spav has called since being at A&M. That shocked me and made me happy. Other than that frick Spav

Disagree, it was a combo of a terrible defense and a running QB that made his job easier.

Spav has always torched teams who play soft zone and dont blitz much like USC. The issue is his offense goes to shite against any team that play press man and blitz, which is every good defense in this comference.

He had a bunch of WTF calls.

After reading these comments, I saved my self a lot of anger and disappointment by not watching this game. Seems like it was a good call.

Did you intentionally not watch today?

Third and 7 on our last possession he audibles to a short side option from the sideline. USC had two more men than we had blockers to the short side, it had no chance.

Consecutive deep balls on 2nd and 3rd and 3

Delayed draw on 3rd and 8 or so

That terrible slow developing counter we ran about three times

Kyler audibled

Kyler made those reads

Agreed, our running scheme is awful. All of it.

Pretty sure that option was a "check with me" sideline audible

It was definitely a provided option but I think Kyler optioned it himself.

More time to think about the game calling. What about the 2nd half offense? We came out of half and scored a TD. After that offensive had 3 punts including a 3 and out.

A&M defense with the 2 picks was the difference in the second half.

Drive 1/3: They stuffed the run on 2nd down and we got off schedule. Kyler didn't complete on 3rd down, I don't recall the play.
Drive 2/3: Run game was working for the most part. We had back to back 3 yard gains. On 3rd and med Kyler took a sack. We killed 4 min at least. We normally pin them deep here, but this is when Kaser had a rare shank.
Drive 3/3: Holding penalty took away a first down. They stopped Carson on back to back downs. We killed 5 min and forced them to use a TO.

They did a much better job of slowing our run game in the 2nd. I didn't mind going to it over and over up a TD in the 4th. If you take into account the final drive (kneels) then we had the ball for over 10 min in the 4th. That might be a record for Sumlin.

I guess that's the smart thing to do with a young QB. It wasn't until 10 min left in the 4Q that they started taking the play clock down before snapping the ball. That was midway through our second to last drive.

Elliot said in his press conference that he was planning to go for 2 if he had scored again. Thankfully, our D didn't give him the chance.

It was South Carolina. Kenny Trill destroyed that secondary...
