I doubt very seriously that anything good will happen to us. You guys are setting yourselves up to take a fall.

Hiring Meacham won't even get me excited. Only thing that will get me excited about A&M football at this point is a new head coach. We looked unprepared and flat on both sides of the ball last night and that falls on one person

That buyout clause Sumlin has is a huge anchor. Don't see it happening. Feel the same as you do.

It's not Peterson. He just left La. Tech for ECU.

Yep, still a big buyout and price of oil is will too low, lots of BMAs that made their money in oil. Not a lot of them want to be writing million dollar checks with $30 oil.

He's gonna be here next year, y'all need to learn to accept it already.

If that is the case, and I don't doubt that it is, we will be waiting awhhile for donors to cough up the funds because oil prices aren't expected to rise for quite some time I believe.

I still say he deserves one more year if he upgrades the offensive coaching

He wins less than 9-3 and it's the highway

Yeah I don't expect it to happen this year, just saying they could make the splashiest OC hire possible and I wouldn't be excited

I agree with this.

If he simply makes a change at OC, even if it's a shitty hire, he deserves more time. It shows that he has identified the problem and is taking action to fix it. That's all he has to do to get most of us back on board.

9-3 with a loss to LSU should be unacceptable as well.

IF he actually does anything, that is.

I disagree. No one game should decide his fate, unless it's to Arkansas State or ULaLa. I think he is walking on thin ice, and a 9-3 season may save his arse, with a bowl win. He will earn a lot more credibility if he goes out and gets a solid OC.

0-5 against your primary conference and recruiting rival should be grounds for termination.

For perspective:

Slocum was 7-6 vs. t.u.
Franchione was 2-3 vs. t.u.
Sherman was 1-3 vs. t.u.

Sumlin is 0-4 vs. LSU

At some point, Sumlin needs to beat LSU, no question, but if we are 11-1 with the one loss to a 10-win LSU team?

I will take 0-6 all day long.
