Not saying the LSU game is going to be moved back to Saturday but I am not ruling it out. Just on the chance that the date is moved we grabbed hotels for Fri and Sat. Hotels haven't priced game in on those dates yet. We have confirmed reservations and until Nov 18th to cancel. To give you some idea of the price difference... we booked same hotel and if game is moved we will be at same hotel and save around $400+ (Hawthorne Suites)

If you are already going (or thinking about going if the dates changes) you might want to grab a room. Cancel them later if date doesn't change. Gigem.

In reality, I would love for the game to get moved so that I could go. On tRant, I'm all about it staying the same ;)

If you think there is Z E R O chance then you just don't understand the dynamics of the situation at all. At some point "player safety" will rear its head. May not move but to say there is zero chance is just silly.

Why would player safety factor into this?

That's already been implied by Alleva. Something about playing 3 consecutive road games in SEC. Guess the short week was okay when they were playing South Alabama at home.

We played 12 weeks straight in 2012 because of the La Tech reschedule and had a stretch of 5 of 6 games on the road with the one home game vs LSU. Of course, we did not have a short week during this stretch.

Seems pretty obvious that the only possible reason there would be any attempt to push the game back would be about player safety. That's the only thing that has the potential to hold any water at all. LSU got to try something to substantiate it. Player safety hail mary. You never know...

The player safety aspect is playing on the road for those 3 straight weeks, including the short week. The addition of travel would mean less rest, etc. for the players.

Not saying it's a strong argument but that is the reasoning behind it.

Those 1-1.5 hour flights to Gainesville and College Station can really do a number on your sleep schedule. Same shite happened to me when I had to travel to Asia for work, so I understand where they're coming from

I get the reasoning behind it also. That's why it cannot be dismissed.

And how many of them were on a short week? I realize you're all up in it with trolling on the LSU-UF topic but I'm attempting to have a serious discussion.

There's more to it than flights and you know it.

They don't want to play three road games in a row with a short week at the end because it makes their schedule tougher. They're doing the same thing Florida did, which is fine

If the SEC buys the "player safety" argument it will be just as bad as them sitting on their hands until Thursday of last week and not forcing the teams to find a solution
