Hillary will beat Trump by a wider margin than Obama did McCain

The difference is that President Obama is charismatic and able to draw people in "Pied Piper" style.

He was running against basically a bitter old man in 2008 who figured "it's my time, I've waited my turn."

Nice job cherry picking, how about the full story

quote:

Right now I don't know who is actually electable other than bobby J or trump and trump will never sniff the ticket and if he stays in the game much longer will divide the ticket.

quote:

You seem to struggle with that word (electable). If the party put their full weight behind him(Trump), he would win.

Exactly. McCain was/is a twisted old lifetime fedgov succubus who felt he was owed the spot and whose whole demeanor is reminiscent of Mr. Potter, the angry old banker from It's a Wonderful Life, who ran on a platform that was basically: invade more countries! at a time when we were tired of the wars, while running against a charismatic, young, half black guy with no experience or record (and thus a blank slate for people to draw their own intentions on), which he used to his advantage. Not only did no one really want to or feel excited about voting for McCain, some people in the party got so caught up in the energy and excitement of Obama's spell that they crossed over and voted for him instead. It was as bad a dynamic, for the Republicans, as there can ever be, short of Gerald Ford, who had become president without being elected for either President or Vice President, and then pardoned Nixon.

Not saying that Trump will win, but it's a very different dynamic this election. His opponent is essentially the female John McCain: an angry, uncharismatic, corrupt old crone who feels she's owed the presidency because it is her turn.

There will be so many jobs that people won't be able to move.

But seriously, I like a bunch of what Trump says, own a MAGA hat and everything, but I am still not sure how he's going to make it happen. Our government is set up to enable fraud, waste and abuse. I don't see how he changes any of that.

You say that, but at the end of the day, sometimes it only takes the right person in the right position to make monumental shifts.

Media types and social media idiots who criticize Trump for not providing specifics don't understand how businesses work at the executive level.

What Trump provided was a STRATEGY (Vision). In business, you want that as broad and generic as possible.

How it would likely work is that he brings his cabinet in, whiteboards his 10 (?) point vision, then assigns leads. After that, they have a certain timeframe to tell him how they are going to accomplish it tactically (tactical level in business = operational level in military).

Once that happens, those leads then push it down to their operational level personnel to get those tasks complete, then the workflow and reporting becomes circular.

I agree with all of this, but government often times doesn't operate like a business, and that's where I see issues. It's one thing to tell the sales guys to hit the ground running and dangle a sweet commission over their heads, it's another to deal with bureaucratic bloat.

Don't mistake anything for what I'm saying for as dissension towards the goal, and the idea of 4 or 8 years of Hillary makes me want to vomit, I just would like a bit more specifics... Putting in Mike Pence with more operational control, would be more of the same, IMO. First thing Trump's done I really didn't like. I wish he hired a business guy. We need new blood in Washington.

Have you worked in a government organization? It may not be as effective or efficient as a business, but it ABSOLUTELY is supposed to run on business principles.

I think that's true within a specific organization, but look at Congress. At that level, with that overarching scope, the system may believe it's supposed to run on business principles, but I no longer think it's remotely possible at this point. The only way things get done is with porkbarrel legislature or a super majority.

I can NEVER vote for someone (Clinton) who has such a blatant disgust and disdain for my profession (military or information security/information assurance).

I have never seen my wife get so angry about someone as she gets about Clinton because of her former career field.

She's not in love with Trump (hell, I can take or leave him), but she HATES hillary with a passion.

We have individuals getting in deep trouble all the time for accidentally aggregating UNCLASSIFIED information up in classification on simple e-mails about USR and they get HAMMERED by DISA. That's not even close to a FRACTION of what Clinton did at DoS.

The whole purpose of her private server was to bypass policies designed to protect our networks and the information therein, let alone what she did with it.
