I kinda agree with the Auburn poster

I get that guys have graded highly, but the UCLA dline outside of Vanderdoes is fairly pedestrian. And our other game was PVAM so they better grade out well.

IMO McCoy is a plus player. Our tackles and Lanfear are close to par or par. And Prater is below par (and I flat love Prater's potential, but let's be honest here)

The Oline has played better than we expected but it's still below average for the SEC. That's much better than flat terrible like last year though.

Auburn has a top notch dline. I think our oline is going to struggle but we will know a lot more by this time tomorrow about that unit and this team

I am no OL expect but Lanfear has been a beast in this short season. I don't think it's near as talented as our last several lines, but they dominated PV like they should and held their own vs UCLA minus Prater vs ucla's stud.

Maybe I'm wrong but our oline reminds me a bit of the 2010 line. That team had Joeckel/Matthews as fish tackles so it was not short on talent at all. But they never blew people off the ball. They simply were fundamentally sound. Against most of the Big 12 sides it looked really really good and then we played LSU and they got manhandled.

Technically we are good. We have talent. I'm just unsure if we can handle the real beasts of the SEC just yet though. We play a lot of good DLs this year but the first is Auburn.

But isn't that when it comes in handy to have a Mazzone offense and the perfect personnel to execute it. Quick high percentage passes to the flat or slants to guys that can make plays like Kirk and RSJ while josh and speedy go deep to keep em honest. I feel like we are well equipped to compensate for an average OL

I hope so. I feel like we did not utilize the slants very well vs UCLA.

Lol Sarge. The zebras clearly wanted Aubie to win. Just read your post on the scoreboard.

The Kirk hit was not targeting. It was the exact thing you're supposed to do.

The punter hit was bs, but it was 5 yd, not 15. Wouldn't have given us the 1st.

And to continue our OL talk, we got whipped in the first. I don't now what they changed, but the unit looked much better (decent, not great) for the rest of the game. We got away with a few holds (not Auburn level tho), but I guess that is what you have to do if you're not going to call it.

about which?

The Kirk hit was excellent d

The running into the punter was a horrible call but we would have declined it so it's more a matter of principle than an egregious error.

My biggest issue with the refs tonight was that their spots were horrific. I'd say Ray Charles would have been better and he's been dead 12 years now

Both teams had a few where it looked short to me and then the refs just gave them the first without even measuring.
