Labrador breeders in Texas.

Looking to get a female black lab puppy, and if anyone has some good experiences with a breeder I'd appreciate some info. I'd prefer an English or an English/American mix.

Anti-breeder here. You can find you a badass Lab mutt (maybe even full breed like I did) for a rescue. They'll love you 2x as much and usually live longer too.

Probably true, and I loved the mutt/rescue I had that recently passed away.

Had a litter of mixed labs dumped in front of our house when I was a kid. Lived out in the country on some land at that time and I guess the individuals just assumed we could take care of them for w/e reason. We ended up keeping one because we already had two other dogs at that time.
It is amazing how much healthier the lab was compared to our other pure breed dogs. I had always known and been told this was the case but was surprising to see nonetheless. He really didn't ever have any health issues until the last 6 months of his life. My parents did have to put him down back in February though because he was just in too much pain at that point.

Hybrid vigor, look it up. It's why F1 crosses are so popular in cattle these days. Usually get the better, dominant set of genes so the animal is overall more healthy, I'm sure it's the same principal with dogs.
As to the OP, I'm no help but let us know if you do find something. I'm in central Texas as well and I've been heavily debating getting a lab within the next couple of years to turn into a duck hunting dog.

Like it's already been said, pure breeds are usually full of health problems due to how they are bred.
I'd stick to a mut lab. They usually behave the same as pure breds and require less veterinary maintenance.
