They pretty much have to put something along that gap because it is a safety hazard. But so far as it not lining up, it's going to be that way.

should have just ripped down the whole student side.

although I've seen plenty of stadiums have stuff like that. The Cotton Bowl and Tiger Stadium both have weird little chunks that don't connect due to years of add ons.

That section is going to have to come down for the final product anyway. Why not finish it now too? How hard would that be? It's only a small area.

The corner view in the model is not the NE corner. It will be different.

That section is not going to come down in the final product.

The existing North Endzone, "the Zone" is staying as it is. The only modifications being made to the Zone are the addition of a brick-like facade and the extension of existing seating down to fill the space left by the lowering of the field.

So, what are they going to do to fix that sinful abomination. Are they clearing out the top part of the corner to make a landing like the other end shows?

Saw these on the 247 board. They've started to bowl in the SEZ

It seems like they're taking an inordinate amount of time this week building that second giant yellow crane. They were flying along with the precast concrete decking for the new East First Deck and then progress stopped completely while the black crane they were using was taken to build the second yellow crane. It's killing me. Can you tell? I just want to go down there and scream at them "finish the second yellow crane already, jeez!"

If we rip down the whole student section we lose to many seats due to new codes. Be paitient big cranes take time to assemble and it must be done correctly or some real bad shite happens. As to fixing a little section now as opposed to waiting remember what you see on the surface is one thing it's what is below it that determines how much time/trouble it is to repair/replace it.

These guys are flying considering the weather and the scope and logistics of this project.

Oh I'm not rushing! Marveling at how much they're doing actually.

When I used to daydream about Kyle being enclosed, I kind of envisioned the SEZ bleacher unit growing gradually into a lower bowl, then eventually building on top of it.

Blows me away that the thing is gonna be ready to rock THIS year

I was not directing that at you in particular I was answering some previous questions posted. I can't wait for the next incarnation when it gets a roof and air conditioning

This new yellow crane they are building on the field is massive. There has to be about 15 cranes on the job site right now. Crazy.

Jason Cook mentioned today on TA that they are going to start doing a bunch of work on the way Read Arena looks. He said the hospital-esque look will soon be gone.

So many cranes in a relatively small area... Just damn.

Hope they stay on schedule and SAFE.

Can someone explain to me why the top corners of the NEZ were chopped off?

It has been annoying for years and obviously can't be corrected.

Idk

It didn't bother me until I saw the Swamp (which we obviously ripped off). Maybe we wanted a slightly different look? Dunno, I'm cool with it until I see the Zone juxtaposed with BHG's

And I'm extremely happy Reed is gonna get a much-needed facelift. It is a remarkably sterile arena.

think these two things have a lot in common (the Zone and Reed) as they were built about the same time. Both are Wally projects. Everything was about function and he didn't really ever seem to grasp the bigger picture. Aesthetics do matter. Atmosphere does matter. The metal bleachers at Olsen were another terrible decision.

It was always amazing to me that during this same period MLB had it's ballpark revolution and teams were seeing fans flock to the new beautiful stadiums vs the old cookie cutter ones that were replaced. And in the midst of that, A&M was building cookie cutter bullshite.
