If Kyler looked like a competent QB, you could get mad at Sumlin for not playing him more... but he hasn't.

So the solution is neither. Hoobastank came in and did okay. Kyle's mind is completely blown and he may be injured. Kyler's not worth a darn as a college QB right now. We have a guy who knows the offense, has played collegiately before and could at least game-manage.

Agreed. He's done his suspension. Now Kyler/Spav/Sumlin need to hug it out and do what's in the best interest of trying to salvage the season and keep the recruiting class together. If Hubenak legitimately wins the job in practice, then so be it; however, if an offensive game plan is tailored to Kyler's skill set, I don't think Hubenak could be nearly as productive.

This very well may turn out to be true, but I have no idea what he has to offer because the couple of time we've seen him he was thrown out there in the middle of a shitstorm without a week of practice as the starter, and yanked after he screwed up.

What I do know is that Kyle Allen shrinks against good defenses, and looks like a broken qb.

This implies that we have an offensive game plan, and I have yet to see one all season

Looks at what you quoted I didn't say fix our offensive problems. That's all on spav and our terrible o-line (and poor QB play).

I said it would fix our quarterback problems. I.e. Speculation on who should be playing, divided locker room, etc. if Kyle starts, hubinak backs up, and Kyler redshirts, we don't have this QB controversy. Our offense would still be terrible and ineffective.

If we have the recruiting clout we should, the defections of Mack and others should not have been a concern.

The question still remains: are we a second-rate program pretending to be the shite, or are we really becoming a national power?

NO coach in CBF can deny that our AD is committed to being the absolute best. We are spending like a motherfricker on upgrades and paying top dollar for coaches. At some point, if we can't get it done with the way we have been spending, it is simply not worth it to try so hard. If we cannot recruit top talent with the efforts we have made, we will never get there. We are better off spending the resources elsewhere.

But I don't believe it. We have not even started realizing the fruits of our efforts. Remember, just 5 years ago, our AD was barely scraping the bottom of the shitter. I think we are much closer to the national competition now than ever as a program, but we are still missing a few very important pieces, and it starts with the OC.

The former. Is this really even a question? I assumed we all realized what we really are.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd love a natty, would love to be really relevant, but... we're A&M, man. It is what it is.

These are not mutually exclusive.

Gotta fake it till we make it. And we'll make it eventually. Rome wasn't built in a day.

I guarantee everyone would be losing their lids if Kyle played like he did vs Bama and Ole Miss and Sumlin never took the redshirt off Kyler.

Think Kenny Hill.

Our D, last year and this year, is able to make opponent's QBs look like sure-fire Heisman candidates.

Might wanna rethink that strategy to shut him up and to do the work to get better. His ego will be inflated x1000000000000 after our game.

Very well. I will accept that.

Guys think back to week 1 against Arizona St. Allen couldn't move the offense and Murray comes in and offered a spark. Sumlin better start Murray or the dumpster will lite off.

It seems we have a lot more to lose this weekend than just a game if we don't perform.

I'd imagine a team leader realizes that, and rallies the guys. Should that happen, it'll be one of the most underrated displays of leadership that little will ever know about.

It would be great to see Kyler play a game start to finish. Now would be the smart time to do this. Make a statement for the rest of the season and next year.

Kyler's dad and I played together for a couple years and he was accused of having the same attitude. I loved the guy. All the team feed off that energy. Outsiders didn't understand. These guys (Kevin and Kyler) only think about winning and aren't that concerned with the other BS. I really hope Kyler starts and plays the whole game against USC. I think he'll remain the starter for the from this point forward.

Agree that now is a great time to give Kyler a chance. But everyone else needs to get their crap together. OL and Spav need to pick it up big time from here on out, whoever is taking snaps.

Well, staff just opened up the QB competition and said that QBs would be evaluated "in all areas". I fully expect for Murray's speed and elusiveness to get serious weight in the evaluation process.
