I really hope that CMike earns his way out of the dog house soon

We are going to really need his toughness in this rough stretch with 5 of 6 on the road.

If we cannot establish the run effectively in any of the games, you will see a lot more playtime for Malena. Malena is clearly the better pass blocker and runs well enough.

Love CMike but he got himself in the doghouse and has to work out of it. Malena certainly isn't making it easy for him either. He had some great runs, a nice TD catch, and his downfield block on JFF's early run is what made it work. Trey Willliams is also going to get touches and is showing why he deserves them.

CMIke did look like a beast when he got his carries. You can just see the chip on his shoulder, that is a man running with a lot of anger. Personally though I think he needs to drop a 50+ yard TD to force Sumlin to give him more carries and hope that Malena doesn't keep getting better.

From my perspective I am thrilled that we have 4 great RB's (I count JFF as an RB at this point as well). That's a good problem to have.

Next year is going to be awesome too. Malena, Trey, B-Will,and Tra are going to be one hell of a group

As I said, I want him to EARN hs way out of the doghouse. I am not trying to take anything away from malena bc he has been extremely steady toting the rock. But CMike has an extra gear that we will need against the better defenses we are about to be going up against. Practice and preparation for the next two games are going to be extremely important for him. He needs to step up.

Anyone notice that he stood away from the offense on the sidelines for much of the game? Off by himself on the end, alone.

I saw that, but I also saw him woofing with a couple of guys.

Weird, and such a shame, because it's the wrong time to be having issues.

Doesn't sound like it's an issue within the team. He either gets out of the doghouse on his own or the team moves on without him.

Our guys seemed pretty excited when they celebrated with C-Mike after his TD run. Damn good player, we need him.

Agreed. But the locker room isn't going to fall apart if he doesn't get his shite together.

It is not a locker room issue, it is this team needing his athletic ability on the field down the stretch.

He will be fine. CMike isn't a fool and he knows if he wants to play on Sundays he needs to swallow the attitude and remind everyone of why he is such a stud. Sumlin can't afford to give him favorable treatment though, it's all on CMike. Certainly Malena and TW aren't going to give an inch, those RB carries are gold right now to those 3.

I don't get why people keep saying we need his toughness.

You guys realize that Malena has knocked two SEC players out of games from how hard he hits don't you?

If he could block worth a damn I might agree but right now it seems he only gets in when the play is designed for him b/c he flat out has not been giving full effort when the ball is not in his hands.

Malena is playing lights out. That QB counter we ran to open the 2nd series was brilliant and it was Malena's block that sprung it. He's doing little things that make this offense go. Here's the diagram for the QB counter at 0:36. Watch Malena's block. It's what turned a nice 7-8 yard run into a 60 yarder.
