Bama is not losing twice. We have a better shot sneaking in as 2nd in the SEC than Bama has of losing twice

A one loss Bama beats Aggy in the tiebreaker for the SECCG. We would be co-divisional champs though. Unless that one loss comes from Auburn, then it would be a three way tie. I would still be shocked if we got in over Bama in that scenario.

We won't. It'll go to strength of opponent in the east. We play played UT but their win over UK trumps ours over USC.

The 8 teams that have made the playoff over the last two years have all been conference champs. This year they will pick 4 conference champs.

I feel like they would pick a one loss non-conference champ (if the one loss was to the #1 team) over any two loss conference champ.

We need Bama to win out, Washington State to beat Washington, Ohio St needs to lose to Michigan, Baylor needs to lose once, WVU needs to lose one, Michigan's got to win out and Louisville needs to lose to Houston.

You also have to consider we lost by 19.

OSU lost to a sub par team by 3.

Louisville lost to a playoff contender by one score. I don't remember exactly how much. Louisville still looks better than us.

We also need Baylor and WVU to get their first loss. Then we need Washington to get 2 losses or Clemson to get 2 losses before a non champion is even considered.

It won't happen. Don't get your hopes up too high. Just enjoy the ride to a NY6 bowl and if Bama drops one then a division co-championship.

We have about the same chance of going to the playoff as the NMST Aggies winning in Aggieland this weekend.

Cmon man. Cheer for the Tigers just this once. The only way A&m is getting to the playoffs is to win the SEC. For that to happen Bama needs to lose. Then all A&m has to do is beat LSU.

Speaking only to things that have a realistic chance of happening, Alabama has to lose to Auburn and A&M has to win out for A&M to have a shot at the SECW.

If A&M, Alabama and Auburn all end up with one loss, it comes down to who you played in the East, and I think Alabama wins that tiebreaker (UK+UT>UT+USC>UGA+VU)

If Alabama loses a second game (to LSU), A&M controls its own destiny.

If a bunch of teams end up with two losses, I'm not sure who wins. Probably still Alabama.

I think there are very few (if any) scenarios where Alabama beats LSU and doesn't win the SECW so... GO LSU BEAT BAMA

yep, LSU beating Bama doesn't really help us much.

It's been noted that all playoff participants have been conference champs but in the 2 year sample, there hasn't yet been a CCG upset. That's our best shot. If Clemson rolls along and then loses to VT or UNC in the ACCCG, or a 2-loss PSU wins the B1G or UW falls to someone in the PAC, who is #4? That sort of wild finish happens a lot, it just hasn't yet in the first 2 years

So I think if we win out, we have a real shot. Not sure how I feel about our chances to win out, but it's there. There won't be a 1-loss non-champ with a better resume I don't think so it really comes down to needing one upset.

All true. All true. Forgot (idk how I could) that Bama needs 2 Ls for that to work out.

At least we will get to hang a co-division champions banner

Assuming we win out and Bama finishes with the one loss

Is it in San Anton? If so have fun! If it's in NOLA, stay away better to watch from home. I'm actually really excited about this season. We have AD who is a top 3 NBA player coupled with Jrue Holiday and finally a knock down shooter in Buddy Heild

Yeah it's here in the Alamo City. Aggiebelle loves going to the games almost as much as I do

Just sucks that our first two games are on the road (@GSW last night, @Sacramento tonight), but hopefully it'll be worth the wait.

I'm excited to see how Hield fits into the existing framework for y'all. Was kind of expecting NOP to take the next step toward relevancy last year, but that didn't happen for a variety of reasons. The pieces are there for y'all to make some noise this year if you play your cards right.

We were ridden with injuries but I still think we are missing a key piece. We need another big name to come play with AD, I don't know who that could be but hopefully we can pick it up in FA next year.

Why? We all thought 6-6 to 8-4 was our most likely outcome. Now it's 10-2 or 11-1. So I would say we had the exact opposite of delusion

You guys on the other hand were clearing out space in a dusty cabinet for a heisman trophy and championship trophy, then you sucked. Now you've beaten a bad team and are 5-2 looking at at least 4 losses but you are busy telling everyone you're gonna win it all and the heisman all over again
