I can’t stand him but his coaching hires are solid. I probably place too much blame on him for Fisher extension and buyout debacle.

He allowed Ole Miss to get neutered by the NCAA. Then he came here and made an arse of himself several times. And now he's going to Ohio State.

Don't kid yourself. The baseball and men's basketball hires were practically controlled by our boosters and regents from start to finish. The one time he tried to undermine our regents/boosters, he offered the job to Mark Stoops hoping we were all too distracted to notice a news dump during the slow Sunday evening + Thanksgiving holiday news cycle. He only ended up embarrassing us (...yet again
). If you want to judge his hiring skills, look no further than what he did to Women's basketball. He had a great candidate who is a former student coaching down the road. But he ended up hiring Georgia's coach instead. She had a very underwhelming resume and it shows. She just lost to the school she left a couple of years ago
. frick Bjork. He's done nothing but collect a paycheck and fight our boosters. Typically, I want an AD who stands up to our regents/boosters. But if you're going to stand up to them, then don't do it with dumbass ideas! Our administration asked him to look for a new job and Ohio State was stupid enough to offer him one. Good riddance!

Saw someone else post this but I laughed at the comparison, “he’s like the Kliff Kingsberry of ADs. Nothing to show for it, but somehow keeps landing bigger and bigger jobs”. Maybe similar to Kliff he will finally crash and burn? I just don’t get it, I know as an AD at a big school all decisions aren’t yours and you answer to boosters, but nothing he’s done at A&M or Ole Miss has impressed me.

if vic schaefer was an option, he would be in maroon. i dont really want to defend bjork, but its disingenous to judge him solely by the womens hoops hire (who was/is underwhelming). he did make 3 good hires in volleyball, softball, and a bonafide stud in the womens golf coach.

Not relevant at all to Bjork but I don’t think our boosters give a single about basketball, definitely not enough to coordinate a hire like they do with football. He didn’t hire Buzz anyways so it doesn’t matter

Bjork hasn’t been a terrible A.D., we could do a lot worse. Those calling for his head should remember that if our next AD sucks

Like a lot GMs in pro sports, it's hard to know what to attribute to him vs owner/booster. I will say he didn't do anything publicly to look like a fool. I think he communicated well to the fans.
The good is getting Schloss, funding for football facilities, NIL go brrrr, and a few minor coaching hires.
The so-so is extending Buzz, Joni Taylor, and ovrall the athletic department has not won enough. Our Director's cup standings seem to be in a small decline from the end of the Big 12 era.
The bad is extending Jimbo, trying to hire Stoops, and not doing anything facilities-wise in hoops or baseball.

Schloss was looking, Bjork just happened to be AD when he was. Schloss had been recently divorced and was looking for a change of scenery to start over, he approached us, from what I've heard, not the other way around. Bjork was also constantly over budget and over-extended us, while simultaneously ignoring most of his peers.
Dude sucked at Ole Miss, and sucked here.
