I'm still sticking with 7 conference wins and here's why:

Kennedy is good for at least 2-3 WTF wins in the SEC. Last year, they were at Kentucky, Missouri at home, and Ole Miss at home.

That brings us to between 5-6 wins. We likely won't lose to Auburn (if we do, we're REALLY awful). That's 7.

Before Vandy I was thinking 9-10. After Vandy it dropped down to 7-8. Now I wouldn't be surprised if they lose out or come close to it.

The reason is that I think they've quit. South Carolina is a really, really bad basketball team. They lost a home game to the USC Upstate Spartans by 8 (Kenpom rating=207); they lost another home game to the Manhattan Jaspers by 18 (Kenpom rating=93); Boise State obliterated them (Boise is an NIT-level team); and coming into their game with us, SCar was 0-6 in a bad conference.

And we made them look like the 96 Bulls. Their defense snuffed any and all life out of our already anemic offense, and their O embarrassed our D (supposedly our team strength). They could have won by 40. That's right. A team that lost to the Manhattan Jaspers by 20 could have beat us by 40 if they'd tried. That's what quitting looks like.

Our team is depressed, defeated, and dejected. They are all but mathematically eliminated from the NIT, which means that they failed to meet their goals and they failed their coach (and it's going to result in his dismissal). That's also messing with their heads, and distracted is not the way to play a muscle memory game like basketball. In other words, their shortcomings make future meltdowns more likely.

So yea. Wouldn't be surprised if we don't clear 5.
