I've always had the opinion that the noise and what not at our beloved stadium has been, for lack of a better word, forced. I've always felt that aggies feel like it's something we have to do and it doesn't come from an organic place of just wanting to cause mayhem for the opponent. For example, look at big time games at LSU or in the swamp. You can just feel the energy in those fanbases. It's constant and hellish noise that doesn't stop until the game is over and you honestly just don't get that at Kyle field.

This isn't to say the stadium is quiet. It absolutely gets as loud as anywhere else in the country throughout the games, but it always just feels like a chore.

What can we do to fix this? I absolutely think we can create a culture and environment that is unmatched. But there needs to be a change

Also, just a random thought, I remember that as recent as my freshman season in 2011 that we were doing yells during the actual game. And not just the gig em and BTHO yell. I guess the conference told us to stop or something because we really don't do that anymore. Or at least not as often as we used to

It does seem like there has been a reduction in yells. Multiple times yesterday during the 2nd half you could here Tennessee fans cheering during a timeout or their band playing. They were perfect times for yells but nothing from the yell leaders. It's been that way for a while now.

Fix what? Jesus F. Christ you need to get out of California. They're screwing up your brain. Even on my couch it was obvious that that was one loud-arse stadium. What else can you ask for? It was a chore? Oh, well just stop yelling then, if it's a chore.

to strive to have an experience that emulates what you get at LSU. As far as I'm concerned, that is the greatest single environment for a big time college football game and a lot of that comes from being able to just feel how badly those drunk Cajuns want their team to kill their opponents. It's organic

I wouldn't trade the 12th man atmosphere for anything. We are the best student section in college football. We are different and proud of it. Everyone else is generic and lame.

And I don't want that to change. I do enjoy the quirks that we have because it really is unique

Agree with all of this tbh. I know exactly what you mean. I just don't think it'll happen

Enlighten us? How are we supposed to make fun of you for being on the west coast if you aren't on the west coast? I catch a lot of crap for my published and accurate home. Harden the frick up and spill the beans.

I don't disagree with that, much. Tiger Stadium is the tits. It's very loud, no doubt. But I also think you answered your own question with "drunk Cajuns". I think our student section (which thankfully is the largest in the country) is about as loud as it gets. I also think the west side isn't especially loud. But other than encouraging alcohol, I dunno that I see an answer to that.

not much you can do as long as all the ads, honoring of random people, and other scripted events take precedent.

I think a way to improve the situation is to preach that yelling doesn't have to be so regimented. It doesn't start as the opposing offense gets to the line of scrimmage and end on the snap

There's nothing like 50k fans yelling at the same time and same pitch tho...

I feel the exact opposite. The yell leader led yells are what is forced, and that's not where our noise comes from.

Ever since we joined the SEC, there's been less yell leader led yells and way, way, way less "hey everyone shut up and look at the jumbotron." Kyle has been way more rabidly loud on a regular basis the past few years. Sure we had our loud games in the big 12 (looking at you Nebraska 2010), but it's more consistent now.

Ah, I misunderstood. The west coast of the Houston ship channel, then.

I can't tell if you're being a wiseass here, but this:

yelling doesn't have to be so regimented

doesn't really mesh up with this:

quote:

And bring back the yells damnit

I've only been back once in forever and what they're doing during commercial breaks is very annoying - and I'm guessing we agree there. On the other hand, that doesn't really effect the game in any way, and I think when A&M is playing good D that Kyle is about as raucous as anywhere.

I would love it if we could bring back the regimented yells without having the noise throughout the game be so regimented

well yea, the overall stadium noise does not come from the yells. It comes from everything inbetween

maybe it's because I only really have 2011 to compare the SEC games to

a) corndogs
b) bourbon

Mix both together and that is how you get that atmosphere.

Give up the beer and cargo shorts and move up to bourbon and colorful clothing styles

If you gonna get loose, you have to set the atmosphere

I feel you bruh.

LSU is loud organically. But you gotta take the bad with the good. And, I don't recommend it.

The Cajuns are a louder group of folks, all the time. While it serves them well at a stadium during games, it is bit much to endure the other 359 days a year.
