Melo isn't any worse than T Jones. Plus if we score 115 a night will win out fair share and then some.

So I'll be in CS by August 1st and I want to hit up Northgate a couple of times before school starts.. any suggestions?

And if it helps I don't own boots and I don't line dance.

Man its been so long since I've been to NG.

I'm not sure what your type of bar is but there seems to be a lot of variety now.
The best thing to do is bar hop around and see what you like. When I used to go fairly regularly, we hung out at Dudleys, Obannons (before it got so popular), Chicken, 315 (I think its gone now), Zapatos (def gone), Fitzwillys (gone) and sometimes the corner bar (has an awesome rooftop bar area now). There are quite a few other bars in NG, just try em all.

P.S. watch for cops when you pull out of there if you are going to drink and drive. CSPD would love to take your money.

Avoid Harry's and probably Daisy Dukes then (I've been to Dukes once 4 years ago so I really can't say).

O'Bannons has the best beer selection in town and $4 Irish car bombs Fri and Sat. The Dry Bean is a good shot bar. The Chicken sucks. It's extremely overrated and I wouldn't spend too much time there. Anybody who says the chicken is awesome either hasn't been there recently or is old and nostalgic. The Corner has the rooftop bar which is pretty cool; food is mediocre. The Backyard, Cedar Lane, Chimy's, and maybe another bar I'm forgetting are fratastic if that's your thing.

Downtown Bryan also has an event every first Friday of the month and that is usually a lot of fun. It's generally an older crowd that visits those bars though; so most places are dead by midnight.

I gotta plug Daisy Duke's since my little brother works there lol. Not sure how much longer he will be there, though. He graduates in August.

Buy a pair of boots.

Learn to line dance.

Different bars for different folks. NG has them all, and they are all close in proximity. Downtown Bryan is a nice place as well. Just don't make any pit stops between Bryan Golf Course and Downtown Bryan.

I liked to hit up Logan's, O'Bannons, The Corner, Dudley's, Mad Hatter, & Barbershots (RIP, but there is a new shot bar there).

Corner, O Bannon's, Logan's are probably my three favorite places. Cedar Lane is kind of underrated IMO. There are quite a few bars though so I would just bar hop around and figure out what places suit you

And it's true the Chicken is overrated. It's not a place you want to go out to at like 11 pm- 2 am. It's a great place to have a few pitchers during the day, especially if it's a nice afternoon and there's a table open on the back porch.

Dudley's is basically the same, but less crowded.

The Chicken was awesome in its day. I remember $3.25 pitchers and $2.50 at Happy Hour with great food. Now the beer isn't super cheap and the food has gone downhill. I have a picture hanging there though so it still has nostalgia and I am an olds now.

That's what I've heard from every old ag. I also heard it really went downhill when the owner passed it onto his daughters. It's sad that in its current state there just isn't any reason for current students to go there over most other bars.

The Chicken was a great place until Don passed. His family just don't seem to have the same attitude about the place that he did imo. I haven't been in there since the changed the sign on the back wall from "$52 fine for fighting" to "$2500 fine for fighting"

I always liked Carneys as well before I quit drinking.
