They are still melting so hard that they are now trying to say Chavis is melting about the lawsuit.

Had an interesting convo about the lawsuit. Mostly legal wrangling.

Chavis officially gave notice on the 4th which was to use the entire amount of what he believed his accrued vacation and personal time were per his original contract that LSU extended. LSU claims he has no right to this and it was not part of the extension. But if so and portions of the original contract they are not honoring, then that isn't an extension, that's a new contract. Apparently the point of this additional suit is to make LSU make a choice

1) the contract extension was not an extension but a new contract altogether. This invalidates all the old pieces of the original (including vacation, etc but more importantly, the buyout) that weren't given specific language in the new

OR

2) It was merely an extension and LSU owes Chavis for the backpay per the original document and the buyout is still enforceable (though up for debate on other grounds)

We'll see what the judge says but neither case is pretty for LSU. In 1, there is no buyout so this whole thing is over. In 2, LSU owes accrued vacation and Chavis would have been able to use that for his notice period. Honestly, to say this is amateur hour on LSU's part is an understatement

Thanks for the thoughts guys. The cancer finally got too bad. His liver was shutting down and it just wasn't fair to him to try and treat it anymore. We had another year and a half with him that we would not have had without the amazing Aggie vet we go to. Gonna be tough for a while though.

Not trying to minimize your grief in any way, but a friend told me after our last death in the family, "our pain is a small price to pay for the unconditional love they give us 24/7".

Which I think is just about a perfect way to put it.

That sucks dude, sorry for your loss. My wife and I had to put our dog down this past November. He was never diagnosed but I'm fairly certain he had colon cancer and just completely lost control of all bodily functions and could barely walk.

It sucks having to do that.
