Don't get me wrong, I love scoring points as much as anybody, but defensive struggles like the 2010 Nebraksa game are just fun to watch.

I agree. I do think that if my team isn't elite and I have to choose, I do prefer a great offense over a great defense. Those pitiful LSU offenses make even the cream puffs painful.
I think elite defense and productive offense is the best combination though.
