It's gameday!

quote:

TEXAS A&M AGGIES (36-21, 16-14 SEC) vs. BAYLOR BEARS (34-21, 12-12 BIG 12)
Schroeder Park (3,500) • Houston, Texas

PROBABLE PITCHING MATCHUPS
• FRIDAY: #15 Brigham Hill (Jr., RHP, 7-3, 2.96 ERA) vs. #30 Montana Parsons (Jr., RHP, 5-3, 2.81 ERA)

SCHEDULE 2:04 pm
TELEVISION ESPN2 • Lowell Galindo (play-by-play), Keith Moreland (color analyst)

With the appearance, the Aggies extend their school-record string of consecutive NCAA Championships to 11. Texas A&M is one of only six schools to appear in each of the last 11 NCAA Division I Baseball Championships. The Maroon and White's 11-season NCAA postseason string is the second-longest in the SEC trailing only Vanderbilt (12 years). It's also the second-longest active string among Texas schools, trailing only Rice (23 years).

The Aggies are 78-73 all-time in NCAA Championship play, including a 67-46 mark in regional action. Texas A&M has won regionals in 1993, 1999, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2015 and 2016. They also captured a district playoff in 1951 before regional play began.

Put together a little table of each team's best 4 bats, the 3 likely starters, and best bullpen arm. Top 4 in each category are bolded.

A few thoughts
The kid with 27 bombs for Iowa is flat out rediculous.
Shew holds his own with the Jakes from Iowa & Houston.
I like our rotation more than anyone elses. If we can hit the ball a little we should have an advantage on Sunday.
Who had Hunter Colemand & Cole Bedford as 2 of A&M top hitters before the season started? Anyone?

Looks like UH is add more seating.

Tickets sold out super fast, but it looks like there are some to be had on the secondary market. I am going to try to go Sat and possibly Sunday. And then Monday if it goes to that.

Haha they aren't the best seats but I have a feeling there will be some open seats. Just holler if you wanna join. May go alone for a couple innings just to check it out if not.

Shewmake really is a skinny bastard. Can't wait to see what kind of player he is with 25 or so more pounds of muscle.

I think he'll be at SS. He's solid defensively.

Big damn win. BU scares me a lot more than UH or Iowa, and now they are on the hot seat.

I agree Finest. We got deep into the Baylor bullpen and they have to fight their way through the losers bracket. The win today gives me confidence ahead of tomorrow night pitching wise. I think we'll be in far far better shape than UH or Iowa.

Any win in June is big.

I still think UH is the most competition. King is better #2 than whoever BU runs out there and their offense has more power.

UH just tied it up with Iowa who had a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the 4th. An Iowa upset here would do wonders to our chances.

Iowa now up 6-3. Lots of pitching being used.
