Pepperdine scores and Will sounds way too happy.

Homan needs to be benched. This kind of baserunning may have just cost us the game. No excuse.

Just a guess, but I think it has to do with the count. On 0-2 or 1-2, pitcher feels like he can let 'er rip.

But don't count on my answer. I don't know a damn thing about baseball... except that 3 picked off base runners is probably not good.

I'll go out on a limb and say "No, they were not exaggerating."

2 HRs, both by fish. Gotta like that.

Sure-fire high draft pick... how did anybody come up with that? Has he had one good inning? I hate to pick on the kid, but...

Beautiful day at the park. A little overcast, but it stayed about 69 with a breeze. It was my youngest's first baseball game so I enjoyed that. My oldest is a regular now at sporting events, especially baseball.

I liked RC's quick hook on Killkenny. He did well enough, but at that point in the game we neck and neck and had the arms in the pen ready. Kaylor did great for 3 and then he didn't. Corbin looked like a guy who deserved to lose his closer's role. And Cason looked like an SEC closer.

Our bets looked solid finally. Shewmake is so damn impressive. I'm not sure the homer he hit has landed yet.

Overall it was a pretty clean game with no major mistakes. We took advantage of their overthrows on the basepath which was a nice change of pace and getting picked off 3x last night.

Pretty easy selections this weekend.

Player of the Series

2B - Braden Shewmake
7/13 with 3 runs and 3 RBI and his first college dinger. The kid was absolutely on fire today with a 5/5 performance. We got something special here, boys. We better enjoy him.

SP - Brigham Hill
I'm guessing ~90% of the time Hill is going to earn a spot of a player of the week. He's just a flat-out college baseball ace. 7-2/3, 2 hits, 1 walk, 0 runs, and 10 strikeouts. He allowed one Wave to reach second on a stolen base and that is as close as they got to scoring.

Polls are all over the place this morning. We're anywhere from 11 to 25.
