Did some reading up. Michigan is in his top 5 as well. Since he's '17, he'd be a freshman when Allen is a senior and Murray is a junior. Would seem these guys wouldn't greatly impact him, as he won't likely start as a freshmen at any of these schools. If he'd RS his freshman year, it would seem to line up perfectly for him. Would think by committing to us now, he could also help himself by scaring off any significant '16 QB commits. Is the above making sense, or am I simply creating scenarios to make it work? A commit like this could be a huge momentum builder for the '17 class....

I'm more confident about Tate than I ever was about Malik. Given that, I'm only 55% confident that we land him.

All the 247 national guys have Martell crystal-balled to A&M. So do Perroni and Hamm. So does the USC mod.

Well if we do land Martell then he's 100% ours. He and his parents have both said that after tonight that he is shutting down his recruitment. He won't even answer the phone from any program but his own. He wants to spend the next two years becoming the best QB in the country.
