I was, again, trying unsuccessfully not to laugh.

I have a horrible poker face. I'd have lost it
Aggiebelle and I are bad about setting each other off, too. We have this one dude in our church small group who speaks in a halting manner and has a lazy eye, the combined effects of which make him look like he's making faces at you even when he's not.
We have to consciously decide not to look at each other when he's talking, or it's all over

I have a great poker face with people I don't like, but some people can break it. Especially when you're around someone you trust and see them lose it.

Not me, if someone knows me well enough they know exactly what I'm thinking.

I mean my poker face when something is funny is horrible.
I'm actually nicer in person to folks I dislike. Defense mechanism from Air Force days when I saw folks blatantly stabbing each other in the back to curry favor with the brass.
Not bout dat lyfe, yo.

I never served in the military, but that sounds somewhat similar to working in the bureaucracy. I think I actually became friends with some of the management over the years because I didn't kiss their asses and they knew they could ask me for an honest opinion. And we, of course, we challenged each other's poker faces at times.

Yea on the sub we didn't have as much politics it seems. We also didn't have as much backstabbing. It was apparent when new supply officers from the surface fleet showed up. They were always guarded and shocked at the relations. Those who did the backstabbing were often chastised by the crew.
