Eta: props on the lawsuit threat. I've had a couple mongoloids offer to discuss things face to face. I guess my posting style misleads people to think I'm short and shy IRL or something, when my posting is actually a pretty fair representation of what a big goofy jackass I really am.

It's weird how people take you online based on your posting style or not. I get received totally differently on different sites even though I post pretty much the same way everywhere.

Once had Brandi threaten me he would drive all the way to Oklahoma to fight me That was a fun one. Don't usually have many dustups, though.

Yep. I didn't even say anything about it, I think he was just giving out bans and not even leaving notes or responding to emails. Very professional. Especially since I've defended him on that site a few times. Oh well, plenty more senile "good Ags" out there to make up for lost customers.

Your posting style just reminds me of old school bothers I grew up around, if you'll pardon a colloquium. We can disagree, but nobody's gonna waste time throwing down over stupid shite because we know things can get real real fast..

Don't mind the colloquialism at all

Guess that kinda does sum up how I usually post. Just easier for me to post how I talk irl than keep up an online schtick.

As a little kid, I would nearly get my arse whipped because I couldn't help but laugh when my old school Louisiana dad was flying off the handle pissed off and saying things like "cotton-pickin'" or "dagnabbit." I was this emoticon irl:

Every girl I've ever dated who wasn't from Texas would make fun of the way I talk and say I reminded them of their grandfathers. Caint hep it, and I've gotten to the age where I don't care and don't bother trying to cover up where I'm from.

I don't remember if you were an old TexAgs poster or not, but it's a modified version of his original username, "Branding Iron." We made it into a cute girl's name for him. I think Brandon created the Rivalries forum just to keep that guy corralled.

"caint hep it" is one of the great expressions in the English language.

My wife teases me endlessly about my "quaint phrases," almost all if which I picked up just from parroting my dad growing up

The trippy thing (for her, and for those who don't know me) is that I have no Texas accent at all. Apparently I sound like I'm from the midwest or something. So that type of diction paired with sayings like "rode hard and put up wet" is a hilarious juxtaposition for her

Between that and the random weird snippets of Spanish I like to use, idk what to tell people.

My maternal grandfather was a Texas Aggie who worked construction in the oil fields all over the world, so God knows how many accents and expressions I picked up from him. Sometimes I don't even realize when I'm using a Spanish or French idiom that I've subconsciously translated into English.

My favorite is the old IP Addy post. Then they get mad when you make fun of their "hacking skills".

Ohhhhhhh i miss trolling those boards. The butt hurt is hilarious.

Re "caint hep it".

Several years ago I was visiting my folks in El Campo. Long-time family friend stopped by for coffee, and the conversation turned to a local golf buddy (ca 75 yrs old) who was famous for throwing ti-tay tantrums on the course. Story was told about the time the dude missed a 3-footer on 18, then proceeded to walk off the green and launch his entire body into a ligustrum bush.

My Mom (exasperated): "Why does he DO that?"

Family Friend (stone cold serious): "He caint HEP IT!!!"

Favorite "caint hep it story" was from a local Texas politician I won't namedrop here because he's an old friend. He was talking about this situation involving some family friends in his small, rural home town. I'd stopped by his office after the parents of one of his old classmates came in for some bidness stuff, and I while they were there they shared the good news that their son had passed his AIDS test, which of course mortified us because it wasn't any of our business.

Later, I asked the the guy - who is a very sincere religious conservative - what it was like finding out his old school friend was gay. Direct quote: "Oh he cain't hep it, that's just the way he is. That boy was running around the house in his mama's dresses when we was six years old."
