There are two more things that I am waiting to see. Who signs and who qualifies (for us and others).

That's the funny thing about the sips class.
They are going to beat their chest like they did something, disregarding the fact that fat ketch has gone back and added stars to their commits, AND the fact that 5-6 of their 4-5 star guys will never be able to enroll

Sumlin has only had 1 signee fail to qualify (Edmund Ray 2012 class)

Exactly, Sarge. I didn't want to be that direct, though.

Wasn't Ray the very first LOI received on Sumlin's first NSD at TAMU? I seem to recall following it that day and the general response being "who" when the first one came in.

Fran did the same thing year one.

According to JC Shuburt, Smith is a silent commit to UCLA.

If we were going to do that we should have done it last cycle.

Wait until 2016 before the ban

The Book "Meat Market" about Orgeron's time @ Ole Miss goes into that in great detail. Ed was despately trying to infuse the program with talent but was running into 4 or 5 star guys that wouldn't qualify left and right. He tried going for them anyway his first class and got burned. At first they make the compliance/AD staff seem out of touch and overly harsh in terms of shutting down kids for being non-qualifiers, but after a while you see they were just trying to save the school, themselves, and Ed the trouble.
There's also a TON of non-qualifying talent out there. A lot of these guys that are in the NFL from SW Minnesota State by way of South East Mississippi Junior College are guys that the big programs would have LOVED to have but were non-qualifiers. It's kinda like "holy shite" when you realize the talent the big schools never see because of the player fing up their academics.
Taking chances on potential non-qualifiers is a hardcore desparation move. Most coaches who have tried it and been burned learn their lesson and just take those guys off of their boards in the future. Meat Market details Orgeron learing that the hard way.

How many years in a row has UCLA beaten us for a stud LB. Like 4 guys in the last 5 years. Enough is enough.
Burn WCA.

The class being 20% non enrollee will never be reported by esipn

Derrick Griffin and Hoza didn't qualify either.

We didn't let them fax an LOI though. Griffin ended up committing to Miami.

This is becoming a brutal finish for 2015 class.

IDK. I mean, we successfully held UT off Murray from what would have been the most devastating flip in recent Texas history. We grabbed 5-star Kirk when no one thought we were the team to beat. And we have some nice pieces coming in on defense. The Jefferson decision was brutal, but I still place that on him. If he REALLY wanted to know our DC, he would have delayed his self-imposed announcement date. I don't think he was ever coming here, and his parents were huge on the Sip bandwagon. Neither was Boyd likely to come given his brother's sip leanings and Hill's sip bias. Sheffield and Mack are really the two big defensive chips left. Grab either one, and we should be good. That's very realistic. Grab both and it's probably one of the best finishes in the history of our program, given the Kyler recommit.....there's a lot to play out....
