Also the idea of Clay Honeycutt starting at FS kind of terrifies me

This is a really tough situation. By telling him now, we basically just green lit Davis to transfer. He had a heart to heart with Sumlin this spring so he should be fully prepared for this and has already considered what's next. I know he loves A&M and is a very well-liked player. So I think he'll stick and move positions. That may just be me hoping for a result. But we'll probably find out soon.

If I had to guess, both Hill and Joeckel will play in the early games this season like Showers and Joeckel did last year splitting series. If we have to go to a backup early, it's probably Joeckel but if we needed to by game 8 or something, I think the coaches would like it to be Hill.

I hope Davis stays. Good athlete, Solid football IQ, great leadership skills and heart. Semi-related to Honeycutt, I actually think Davis could make a solid FS

honestly, I think people seriously underestimate him because he wasn't highly recruited and didn't make an impact early. Yet Raven didn't play much at all last year but no one seems to have a problem with the idea of him starting

Yeah, I'm not saying he's bad as I haven't seen much of him, he's just a total unknown to me. Raven I knew quite a bit about coming into college and I can recall some performances in live action (even if they weren't meaningful). I trust the staff though

Today's Sumlin presser. Now with more RSJ and Honeycutt!

Some notes from today
- Matt Davis continues to work with the QBs
- Kenny Hill took the 2nd team snaps (Manziel 1s)
- RSJ filled in for Kennedy today at Y and went full Megatron on our first team defense

Good. At least I know I'm not the only one.

Clay Honeycutt will have to work twice as hard as everyone else if he wants to gain my trust and respect.

Anyone else think Honeycutt is running with the ones possibly b/c of Raven's suspension?
I assume Honeycutt and Raven must be at similar levels if he's doing this which is good news to me.

Sumlin was pretty coy when talking about Honeycutt so it's certainly possible, but it's pretty unlikely imo. This isn't like a normal situation. Raven has almost no experience at FS and he needs every rep he can get. He needs to practice with the other first team guys and against the first team offense if they plan on starting him. Additionally, Sumlin has been adamant that nothing has been decided in that matter.

Today was photo day and some have already probably seen Dr RC's sig photo (which is a great one). But Aggie Athletics posted quite a few. Here are some of the better ones imo

It's unfortunate that Davis is transferring. However, like Jameill Showers, if he truly wants to play QB, he has to go where he can play QB.
