If you look at their schedule last year, there's not a single even remotely impressive win. I understand, you play who's on your schedule, but outside of Clemson and maybe Arky State (maybe), their schedule was DEFCON 4 level dogshit.
They barely got by a 4-8 Troy and won by 2 in their bowl game against Ohio, a team that got blown out by Bowling Green.

Yep. People giving them way too much credit. They wouldn't have made a bowl against UT's schedule last year.

They would have had 2 wins against our schedule last year.
Western Carolina and North Texas. Bowling Green would have destroyed them.

Not really. I'd rather see them play a game under Fuente first.
I will say that I'm glad we're playing them early in the season in Fuente's first year, rather than playing them later in the season or in his 2nd or 3rd year.

Good point. I truly believe Fuente will eventually be a star coach.

Va Tech is too deep into rebuilding mode to worry a whole lot about. They do however have a good defense. As we get closer to the game, I'll worry more, especially since I've been in a back and forth with a Hokie buddy of mine since this was announced. I have ulterior motives for wanting to beat them.
