Only way we should keep him is if Gruden, Peterson, Strong, and possibly Petrino say no. Otherwise it's not worth buying him out for another mid level HC or "up and coming coordinator"(i.e. Kirby Smart). If they do happen to say no, I hope we make our offers to them public knowledge, given they are big time money offers and not something each will laugh at. At least then other potential coaches will know we are willing to pay.

No way Dooley comes back.

I don't understand the "only replace him if we can get a 'big name' coach." If we can't, do you expect to get one next year? If not, why would you let him come back?

I did read yesterday that there was supposed to be an announcement(well THE announcement) Monday regarding Dooley, everything was all systems go until 7am and then they pulled the plug on it. Apparently Cheek wasn't 100% on board. Then at some point Monday CDD and a big money booster(I'll let you guess which one from a certain wealthy family) were talking on the phone and things soured rather quickly, ultimately turning to yelling, and CDD hanging up on the booster. This was apparently all Cheek needed to hear to get on board(he knows not to piss off the money train). Dooley has burned all his bridges and exhausted all potential supporters. We have offered a dumptruck full of money to Gruden, whether he takes it or not we'll see.

Well that's good. Because hanging up on one booster is dumb enough. Go for multiples.
