Getting cucked by Peyton and Gruden would be the end of my fandom

Also, is there a reason he turned down the colts last year but is changing his mind?

Not sure.

A member of Colts upper management was in Knoxville yesterday (typical for Titans opponents to come watch Tennessee practice) and some people at Tennessee indicated today after speaking to him that they feel Gruden will be very interested in the Colts opening.

Not sure about Peyton’s involvement, although I know he has been involved in some of the groundwork on the Tennessee end.

If the Colts hire Gruden, it will be definitive proof there is a God... who hates Tennessee.

I don’t really buy that Gruden is coming to Tennessee, but otoh I don’t think Pey would want to work under Irsay. My best bet is that Gruden returns to the booth next season.

If it’s true that Gruden visited the team and coaches, this is likely all for nothing.

Yep. If he avoided the players and coaches, we're in good shape. Him touring the facilities is not good, hope it isn't true.

I don't think it matters either way. I've heard the boosters are willing to pay for Gruden and that we're serious this time BUT Gruden has a sweet gig going on that is less work and great pay.

Hope it happens but I think Gruden is a guy who loves to flirt but ultimately won't put a ring on it.

I like to indulge in the Gruden nuggets, but if we get the guy I think we will, we'll be happy.

I don't know the policy about talking about other boards(if there is one), but did anyone else see the post yesterday on VQ that said it's a done deal $6 mill/yr and $12 mill for staff? It was up for like 10 min before the admins took it down. I've also heard that it was nearly a done deal back when we hired Lyle. The money was right and he was ready to sign, but the BoT had issues with his outside endorsements that they wouldn't budge on so Gruden said no. Butch has alot more outside stuff that Dooley did so maybe the BoT has softened on that some. There definitely seems to be alot of smoke around him this time around. Whatever happens, if they don't get him I hope they at least figure out some way to announce that they at least contacted him and he declined the coaching opp but agreed to help them find the coach. I don't know how you do that without offending the guy you hire, but at least it would stop the grumors in the future.
