Depth chart from both teams stand points don't look crazy enticing if I'm Kamara. But, if you know you have the goods, then show out.
I would have guessed Clemson was where he'd land to start off with but UGA people seem to think he's ours.

I'm not sure. I didn't follow his recruitment very much. I wouldn't be shocked though if that is the case

He left Bama because he felt they lied to him during recruiting. Clemson was an option, but UGA was neck-and-neck with Bama for him out of HS and it feels more comfortable for him after the transfer given its close proximity to home and his relationship with the coaching staff and guys like Tray Matthews and Lorenzo Carter. If he wanted to go to Clemson, he'd already be enrolled...

I don't know why everybody thinks the running backs at Georgia will be so great next year. Gurley will be gone. Marshall is injured and might never be the same. As much as Georgia fans try to hype him up, Chubb is only like the 3rd or 4th highest running back in the class among SEC schools. Fournette at LSU and Roc Thomas at Auburn are both rated higher

I wish UF would recruit Kamara, he would be a perfect fit in the new O. I doubt WM will recruit him though.

You're forgetting Sony Michel, who was rated higher than both Chubb and Thomas. It also depends on the service as to who was ranked higher between Thomas and Chubb.

This is 247 ratings. It seems some services liked ROC alot more than 247. Sony Michel was rated higher than both somehow yet Chubb outplayed him all week at the All American practices.

Nick Chubb will be a beast.

UGA is stacked at RB. I wouldn't take any other backfield in the country.

In terms of depth, from top to bottom, I agree. However, they cannot all play.

You are usually looking at the top 2 backs, and if that is the case, I take Yeldon/Henry over Gurley/Marshall. Gurley is the best of the bunch IMO, but I like both Yeldon/Henry over Marshall. I actually feel like Sony Michel would be the better change of pace back to Gurley, but I am biased.

He's most likely going to UGA

Has anything been said that would indicate this or is this just a hunch because of his recruitment in HS?

That is the rumor and he just got an offer from UGA recently. This adds some smoke to that fire. Who knows ?

I think our 247 mods have been saying he's ours to lose.

Apparently, Kamara snuck over to UT this weekend and liked what he saw.

quote:

Four-star running back Alvin Kamara, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 3 overall junior-college prospect in the 247Sports Composite for the 2015 class, visited Tennessee on Friday after wrapping up his spring semester at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College. It was the first known visit the 5-foot-11, 200-pound Kamara has taken since he arrived at Hutchinson earlier this year after transferring from Alabama, and it was undoubtedly a significant visit for Tennessee. Kamara was heavily recruited by the Vols out of Norcross (Ga.) High School, but they never gained enough traction to become a serious contender before he chose Alabama over Georgia last year on National Signing Day.

quote:

“I have actually talked to Coach Jones and (running backs) coach (Robert) Gillespie, and they are looking for a back,” Kamara said at the time. “I have been talking to them through (Tennessee wide receiver) Jason (Croom), and (wide receiver) Ryan (Jenkins), too. So I have been kind of thinking about Tennessee, too. There are a lot of opportunities there, too.” Don’t expect Kamara to say much publicly about the visit in the coming days — he seldom gives any interviews — but sources close to his recruitment have indicated that he already has developed a good relationship with Gillespie over the past few months. It’s also worth noting that Tennessee’s running-back depth chart, while undoubtedly deeper than it was a year ago, still might be enticing to a junior-college transfer looking for early playing time.

did anyone actually not pay attention to the decimation that occurred in UGA's backfield last year?

Douglas is good enough to play in this league. I'm not worried about it. Especially with, Michel and Marshall and Chubb.

I'm sure he did like what he saw. It would be weird if he didn't.
