Even if it is, that is the douchiest thing I've ever read.

you might as well put a huge sticky note on your forehead that says you've never left the south. anyone who has traveled the country and around the world would laugh at Oxford as some bastion of wealth.

In all reality both State and Ole Miss are working on outstanding recruiting classes aided by the fact that Auburn, Arkansas, Tennessee, etc have sub par classes.

Both State and OM could easily finish in the top 15 nationally in recruiting rankings. At least on 247 and Scout.

Who said anything about "bastion of wealth?" Strawman much? And, yes, I've been living outside of the South for a long arse time now, and I can say that when I tell people I went to Ole Miss they usually react with "oh, like Eli Manning" or "OMIGAH I LOOOOVE THE BLIND SIDE." On occasion, I get reactions about the Grove, co-eds, etc.

Very, very rarely is the whole race thing brought up. It is, and it's usually in passing (people are generally careful to accuse someone, even vicariously, of racism in a face-to-face interaction*), but for the most part people are generally interested in hearing about Ole Miss when they meet me. I really do think that all of the pop cultural references we get have to do with that.

*Which is why I'm interested to see how Coonass would act in real life. Dude drinks his own jizz with his internet schtick of "Ole Miss is the most evil and racist institution EVAR" but I highly doubt he'd say that to any of us in person (and that's because he's a huge pussy).
