We got another one through the portal. Smoke Bouie from Texas A&M. CB. We've lost a couple (so far) We expect to lose a decent amount through the portal this year.

But to your point, yes. Kirby seems to try to get as many freshman to early enroll as possible. We lost one recruit this year because we had reached the limit on early enrollees, and he did not want to fall behind by waiting.

I guess he's saying they don't have a high amount of transfers. Success winning back-to-back NCs typically do that eh? That or they go for early enrolls to get them on campus quickly.

Look at the names he is mentioning. He isn't a Georgia fan, he is a Florida fan. Emory Jones doesn't ring a bell?
Although Will Campbell is with LSU, so maybe not? Anybody know a poster that goes by Crown or Crownie? Other than that I got nothing. He's not a Georgia fan, though.

If Kirb is retaining scholarship players by setting up "NIL for Walkons" that sounds like a work around that needs to be addressed. Alabama has got to be mad they did not think of it first. Or maybe they have>

This is a way to get around the 85 cap limit.

Wait. You think every team has not thought of this?

I think with the portal, more early enrollees will be the norm. Bama has 25 this year.

He’s saying all but 1 of their new additions are early enrollees.

The modern recruit knows he must qualify.

A lot of really good players actually get a degree now.

This is not the 1970s or 1980s with Linnie Patrick and James Brooks.

Top level recruits know they are even more sought after IF they can be an early enrolleee.

If you started your own sports site, you could control the narrative.
You didn’t, shut up

Are you counting both Recruits and Portal guys in that 25? I seem to remember 22 HS recruits but I could be wrong.

Edit: Nm. Reading comprehension fart.

Yep.
There's 5 new portal entries since yesterday.

Georgia football players who have entered the transfer portal
Tight end Ryland Goede
Tight end Arik Gilbert
Tight end Brett Seither (committed to Georgia Tech)
Cornerback Jaheim Singletary
Defensive tackle Bill Norton (committed to Arizona)
Offensive lineman Jacob Hood
Linebacker Trezmen Marshall
Wide receiver Dominick Blaylock
Linebacker MJ Sherman (committed to Nebraska)

The four names on this list that could really be good.

Arik Gilbert (kid has psych issues - UGA tried to help him) - freakshow of an athlete.

Trezman Marshall (he would be starting on almost any other team in the country than UGA - good player).

Jaheem Singletary - only a Freshman but he is near end of depth chart after one year - very talented.

Dominik Blaylock - very good player and better person. Injuries derailed his career arc at UGA w/ two ACLs. Very good hands and very clutch receiver.
