This is just freaking stupid...
Dawgs have 27 recruits/newbies between HS and the Portal.
Only two from the Portal - WR's Dominic Lovett and RaRa Thomas.
The Total of new players ENROLLED this semester is 26 of 27. That means 24 of their 25 freshmen commits are EARLY ENROLLEES.
Their freshmen aren't freshman for long after getting Spring ball and the summer to acclimate.

EDIT: EXAMPLE: Will Campbell enrolled in January last year. That is what's called an Early Enrollee. Emery Jones completed his regular Senior year of HS then enrolled in the fall semester. He did not get to participate in Spring football because he wasn't enrolled at LSU.
By enrolling early, Campbell had the advantage of acclimating to the Program through Spring ball and the summer before August camp that Emery Jones did not.
PERNT: Early Enrollees have an advantage. Georgia getting 24 of their 25 HS Senior commits to Early Enroll is a tactical advantage.
There are always threads wanting to know how many of our (meaning LSU) kids are Early Enrollees. I'm sure Crownie has that list for this class somewhere.
Getting 24 out of 25 teenagers to do anything is crazy.

Edit: I did look it up but have forgotten exact totals but OSU and LSU were roughly 13 of 25 on new recruit EE's and Gumps were about 22 of 29.

I guess he's saying they don't have a high amount of transfers. Success winning back-to-back NCs typically do that eh? That or they go for early enrolls to get them on campus quickly.

Having 24 high school early enrollees is GAME CHANGING if that’s what I’m reading

He’s saying all but 1 of their new additions are early enrollees.

And if true, it's amazing. Probably the best ratio ever

Just freaking ridiculous! Edited OP, by the way.
If I get a chance I'll check the other elite programs same numbers but please have at it, somebody. I've been on the Portal so not up on all HS guys much this cycle.

People want to hate on Kirby, but he's figured out his own way of doing things. Getting an OC like Monken was clutch too because he isn't really going anywhere at his age, and there doesn't seem to be a me first attitude on that team.

Kirb gonna have to do some processing. The only way you can bring in early enrollees is if you can stay <= 85 schollies. I would like to see how he is doing that.

We have more kids about to hit the portal and several have elected to be walk ons instead of transfer.

Yep.
There's 5 new portal entries since yesterday.

Of course there’s one dickhead that’ll downvote. Yeah Kirby is doing his thing though, quite impressive feat in retaining talent overall and having that many early enrollees. Thought LSU had a good amount but wow.

So kids are basically going to revoke their Scollies and depend on their NIL for school costs and spending money.
Correct, Oz?

Do you know who actually played among those who renounced the schollies?

Nope, it’s a pride thing and they don’t share that info.

If Kirb is retaining scholarship players by setting up "NIL for Walkons" that sounds like a work around that needs to be addressed. Alabama has got to be mad they did not think of it first. Or maybe they have>

This is a way to get around the 85 cap limit.

I think BYU was first with paying walk ons NIL or at least publicly setting up a collective for it. I’m sure all the top programs are doing it.
