Him and his staff are recruiting their asses off.

We need to get back in on some of those florida recruits

He has recruited pretty good. However it’s gonna be at least another year before the recruiting classes start to pay off. Plus the recruiting isn’t all world to where it can over come back coaching.

I’d still bet against him being successful but we will see

That's one of the biggest reasons he was hired, everyone knew he was an elite recruiter. We knew he'd have to tear it down to the studs and rebuild it from the way Dan left it, but because he's such a good recruiter we knew he'd at the very least restock the roster with top talent. Whether he's a top tier SEC coach or not, that's yet to be determined, but he's going to have a top tier SEC roster.

No basis for the that, just hope. His actual coaching trajectory suggests that he gets better year after year.

The bar was certainly set low .

He is getting in the mix. Zero reason UF wasn’t always in this spot.

NIL and the transfer portal have made high school recruiting less relevant

It will become more so when more and more of these high school kids bring little to no return and/or end up leaving after a season.

Then you will see the portal fill up even more because that is where the bulk of NIL money will flow to some more proven players.

Billy is doing fantastic for being in year 2 of big boy recruiting with nothing special happening on the field.

The coaching part tbd but i think he is ahead of the game. Last year i would of said Cristobal with his Oregon tenure and the 23 class is one of the best but Billy is already in yr 2 competing against the best and he is killing it.

Dare i say he's surpassed Cristobal. Jmo but Napier would never front load a shite ton of 3* guys.

Transfer portal is for programs that cannot recruit. It’s fine to get 2-4 players a year out of portal to backfill but I don’t see these teams looking for 8+ guys per year ever being a factor for Nattys.

Florida's commits by state for 2024:

Georgia: 6
Florida: 2
Texas: 2
Maryland: 2
Mississippi: 2
Virginia: 1
North Carolina: 1
West Virginia: 1
Germany: 1

The State of Florida has an apparent down year in recruiting talent (outside of Out of State kids attending IMG) and Billy has done something we haven't seen before; compile a top class with out of state talent

Depends on the transfers.

LSU had fewer than 40 players when Brian Kelly took over and he used the transfer portal along with some excellent high school recruiting and built a team that got to Atlanta.

We don't win 6 games without transfers like Mekhi Wingo and Jayden Daniels, or freshmen like Harold Perkins and Mason Taylor.

Good thing you don’t have to play FSU this year lol. Maybe BK can try to get less than 3 losses

Napier has never beaten FSU or LSU. But sure, keep thinking about Brian Kelly.

BK peaked in his first season of the SEC. It resulted in getting blown out in the championship game. Napier is building greatness

Maybe Florida improves next year, even significantly, but the way y’all’s schedule is set up, he’s not gonna be able to keep his job just by winning the games he’s supposed to. Which games do you expect to win? What’s the worst record Napier can save his job with?

Is this true? I thought his class was being raided. I know we've flipped one and are about to flip another.
