I'd be surprised if he committed to LSU. He had a good visit, but it was just him, not his family.

LSU will fill the spot at Safety the same way they did last season after the Hootie fiasco.
It is kinda similar. The staff have been increasing their effort in recruiting George Campbell for the past month or so.

While we aren't hurting at Safety, it's true we need at least 2 good Safeties in this class since we'll be losing our 3 most experienced Safeties after the upcoming season.

we are going to have to hope hootie gets alot of playing time this season, that geno smith pans out and then stays for his senior year at FS. Then we will be in good shape heading into 2015

Agreed. Hopefully either Hootie or Clark is so good that he earns situational PT the way Vinnie and LC did their freshman years.

I really can't see Clark staying at S. I mean coming in he was what, 6'2-220. Unless he is going to be our version of Taylor Mays I see him going to a LB/Jack position....however I would love to see him roaming the secondary blowing up receivers.

Read an article a week or so ago where his high school coach said bama wants him to stay at or below 218 pounds. He'll probably be on a strict diet to ensure this happens. He's a big, sturdy kid but he isn't built like Rashaan Evans. Clark could stand to lean down a little bit and still retain/gain some power.

And while Hootie is a bigger guy, he played corner throughout high school. He's the prototype FS. If Clark can play the enforcer role ala Barron/Sunseri then Hootie will be freed up to roam the back end ala HCD/Johnson.

Clark will have to drop his resistance to a move, like Ardarius Stewart before him.

Both of them moped around the AL-MS game in their respective years. Stewart was forced to play S, while he wanted to be a WR. Clark wanted to be a S, but they placed him at LB. And both of them did fairly well at those spots, yet still came out of the game set on their positions.

Although it didn't stick, Stewart gave Safety a shot this Spring in an attempt to get on the field. Didn't work out, but at least he understood team needs outweighed his own. Not saying Clark will move, but unless they are planning to vastly change his position to OL/DL, I'd be open to listening at the very least.

By all accounts this kid is an oustanding prospect. LSU and Alabama don't offer just anybody at DB; why didn't FSU recruit this kid? Anyone know the story there?

Solid pickup for Bama. Didn't think LSU was going to pull it out but there was always hope. On to the next one.

Congrats though!

Would have had him if you would have paid him like Bama, right?

Congrats.
Disappointment in Tar Heel land but that's what happens when you recruit against the big boys.

I'm just glad we're playing on this level.
