For the same reason my parents spent 2Gs to fly out to Cornell to visit. This is arguably the biggest decision of his life so far that can have huge monetary implications. 2Gs is chump change compared to his projected NFL signing bonus even if he is a mid round guy.

Also, that flight likely is heavily subsidized under the table. That happens all the time

That would be a very serious recruiting violation. Like loss of scholarships and bowl ban serious.

You serious Clark? I would be surprised if subsidizing trips isn't common place with some kind of unwritten guidelines between coaches about this. I'd be pissed if we lost recruits for not doing it. Of all the things to do and not get caught, this would be at the top of the list. Practically anyone not living behind dumpsters or in a tent at a state park can throw together 2 G's in a pinch if they had to. Not provable unless the payers and payees are complete buffoons.

You think the Aubs are going to let this kid take a second official to UCLA the week before signing day? They would turn them in, in a heartbeat.

He already had an official to UCLA early on. He can only go on an unofficial visit now.

I'm sure State wasn't happy about paying Cam's dad all that dough to watch him walk away but that worked out all right for every body; except State boosters who was out a pile of dough and the player.

Ok Genes and UCLA can clearly show just as good if not better LB production in guys being drafted under Mora than Bama and definitely AU and they are selling him on replacing a guy (Anthony Barr) who will be a top 10 - 15 pick easily

Big weekend for UCLA. They have Evans coming in on an UOV along with Kenny Young, M Dupre, and M McGraw(all 3 go to school together) not to mention D Knox(OSU commit) and G Gray(Texas commit. Also MH will be there as well and him and Dupre are friends. Especially since he stopped by UA when Dupre was there last weekend. UCLA pulls this group off I will be amazed.

Not sure how you aren't worried about a kid spending 2Gs on a trip across the country 3 days before signing day.

Because IMO, it will come down to whether he wants to play in the Pac-12 where his parents won't be able to see him play in person very much, or whether he wants to play in the SEC with better competition and where his parents can see him every week. Plus, this isn't out of the blue, our coaching staff and writers have known about this possibility for a little while, and their confidence isn't waning much

When it dawns on these kids on NSD where they actually see themselves and all the visits wear off they will wake up and realize the south is where they wanna be. Ucla is a joke
