Auburn. I was hoping we'd get the last visit so we could crush TTs dream.

Strange. You'd think he'd wait until after his OV to Auburn.

That's the difference with Saban and most coaches. He doesn't feel the need to play those games. You will never see the ENTIRE Alabama defensive staff make an in-home visit. Saban takes Kirby and that's it.

I don't think I have ever heard of Saban sending more than two coaches to visit a kid since he's been at Alabama. I could be wrong, but I don't think he has.

It must be that old feeling creeping up in yall. A player you want so badly, only for inevitability to rear its ugly head. Again.

He doesn't. That's because once Saban visits you it's usually over at that point.

Bama fan posts this:
quote:

Alabama fans: "Visit went very well and we think we have a good shot. We will see come signing day." Auburn fans: "FU bamatards, AU lock!"

So I foolishly decide to explain why Evans is probably going to Auburn. (No I didn't say AU lock even though that's how it will be interpreted)

Now since I explained it, that makes me "nervous"

You don't know me very well bruh. I don't count anyone truly Auburn until LOI is in. I don't get rustled over OV's, twitters, or instagram's. Kids will go where they go and nothing anyone can do about it. Why worry?

Are you not capable of having a conversation about a recruit without trolling?

What games? Wanting to be the last guy in somebody's ear isn't playing games IMO.

Bammers aren't able to have any objective football conversation without trolling

Perhaps games wasn't the right word. How about ploy?

You know, sending your entire staff to visit a kid, telling the parents you want to make sure you get in after a certain rival coach, etc.

Saban does his thing and doesn't give a shite what other coaches are doing.

If he did do that type of stuff he certainly wouldn't be making his in-home before Evans goes on his OV to Auburn, but he is. He doesn't feel the need to get the last word in. He prefers to let his reputation speak for itself.

Bama wants him at Sam to play coverage and blitz. He feels like Bama gives him the best chance to make it to the NFL and is closest to Kirby of any coach. AU is recruiting him for the Star Hybrid position (S/LB) Therezie played most of the yr for AU but he played a lot more coverage than in the box, to me the position is very close to the type of impact Barron had for Bama

We used Therezie like that out of necessity. His backup was a true freshman, which made Therezie play most every snap, and Therezie isn't the ideal size Johnson wants at Star. That said, Therezie had a great year and I think he can be very effective next year as well.

Johnson likes a bigger player for the position and when he has one, he'll use that player for edge rushing a good bit more than he did this year. Evans would be a dynamic player at Star. He would really be a gamechanger for our defense, since he would be able to do so many different things for us.

It wasn't that long ago that we were sending a good bit of defensive players to the NFL. I think we'll start to see that # rise in the next few years with Ellis Johnson. He did a good job helping some relatively no-name/low profile players, and some better known guys, for S Car get to the next level in his time there.

You make much ado about nothing. Nothing wrong with the recruiting you describe.

So Saban does it differently? What is it with Bama fans that anytime someone does it differently than Saban it is wrong, or bad?

Malzahn is putting together a very nice class with some elite players and others who fill the roles of need. So Malzahn wants the last home visit, Guess what Evans family agreed to give it to him.

I remember a time when you complained about trolling on the recruiting board long long ago in the before time

I don't think any Auburn fans felt very good about Foster when the entire staff (mainly Trooper) was let go.
