Just like people act like UGA brings out the THUG in these kids. We all recruit the SAME players. For whatever reason (we report more, ACC police hate UGA, Richt lost control, too much shite to do in Athens, etc) these kids get in trouble...but we discipline them harsh or kick them off the team. There is no argument there.

Also, under Richt, we don't take transfers that had issues with the law from another school. We also don't block transfers. Just the Richt way

It seems like we're always school D. Have we ever successfully recruited another school's cast-off?

Richt is still not the saint Georgia fans make him out to be. Kicked Odell Thurman off the team and then brought him back. Kid is still a thug based on all the trouble has been in since leaving Georgia

Isiah Crowell and two other players failed drug test before the Florida game a few years ago but were still allowed to play in that game. They weren't suspended until the New Mexico State game the following week

I forget his name, but Georgia still has 1 player who was involved in the same theft incident as Jon Taylor and Tray Matthews. Kid wasn't even suspended for 1 game by Richt

Georgia's athetic department as a whole isn't immune from giving second chances to people who have had trouble at other schools. Tony Cole and Jim Harrick are prime examples

Proof of when the tests occurred and when the results were found out? And its not like UGA won because we had Crowell. That was Richard Samuel's one shining moment.

Mathews and Taylor were not suspended either for the check cashing. Richt did not pick and choose who to suspend and who not to suspend. Mathews and Taylor then went on to get in more trouble and were then kicked off.

So the test was issued before the Florida game? That article sounds like the results came back the next week.

You're right. We just stop after the 2nd strike and send them to War Eagle Reform Training. Good job picking up our trash

Regarding Jonathan Taylor. It appears Alabama is likely to sign him. Not a lock but it looks like it from our end.

My question is, would Taylor have been starting for you this year or next? Idk exactly what base defense UGA runs now with Pruitt but assuming you run a 3-4 would he have been a starting NT for Yall? And what are we getting strength wise? Run stopper obviously.

Note: as most have stated on the Bama board, we are not excited about the kid's past and character but are hoping there is some information that we aren't aware of that is skeptical. But it appears that isn't the case and we just have to trust saban. Kind of indifferent about the new addition.

OP,

Taylor was a rotational player, he didn't get much PT. He was s 5 star coming in, if I remember correctly. I thought he'd be a starter in 2013 after losing most of the DL, but he was the backup.

Great for depth, but I don't know that I'd compromise the integrity of the team for depth. For a superstar, sure, but for depth, I don't think you will be getting enough bang for your buck.

Has Auburn offered him yet?

If Auburn, and Rodney Garner (who recruited him at UGA) hasn't offered him, that should tell you something.

There were 4 guys arrested with the check cashing. Only DeLoach is still around, and he isn't a starter or really a top replacement so it aint like Richt was playing favorites,

Odell Thurman is the reason why UGA doesn't bring back its own miscreants anymore. Oh, and that was a decade ago.

Richt has nothing to do with Harrick or Cole so I don't see how their doings have anything to do with him. And again, that was a decade ago.

The drug test was given before Florida. When you have a positive, a second sample is also tested to confirm the original positive. This did not come back til the next week. Considering that UGA and Kentucky are the only two SEC schools that would even think of suspending a player before his 5th or so failed drug test (and most schools don't even bother to test at all), it still makes UGA look tougher on that stance than anyone else.

Richt isn't a saint. He would be the first to tell you that. However, at least he doesn't spout off all the good Christian values speech and then throw it all away if it might mean losing a game.

The responses from Georgia fans in this thread just shows their hypocrisy. If the Isiah Crowell situation had happened at any other school, these same people would claim the failed test was covered up until after the Florida game.

The idea that Georgia is the only school that punishes failed drug test is also bs. Micheal Dyer left Auburn rather than face a 6 game suspension for a 2nd failed drug test. He was actually the offensive mvp of Auburn's national championship game against Oregon. Let me know when Georgia threatens to suspend the mvp of a national championship game for half a season for any reason. Of course this would first require Georgia to actually make a national championship game

34-7. The hurt that just keeps on hurting.

Relax phan23, it was just a game. Albeit a game in which your team was utterly destroyed, but just a game nonetheless. But yeah, we destroyed you. Bad.
