We hired Kiffin before y'all hired Pearl.

And you hired him after Trooper.

Remember all of the Aubs who were saying Pearl wouldn't end up at Auburn because of the integrity of your university and how Jay Jacobs runs the athletic department? Lulz.

No, I don't. I remember everyone hoping Jay Jacobs would be smart enough to hire him. The only coach AU fans were split on was Petrino's sorry arse.

Face it. Fans of both universities are hypocrites. To be a fan is to turn a blind eye to the weaknesses of your program while shining a light on those of your rival.

Which is my point. Let's see your local frickhead moral superiors come out from under their rocks. Along with Cobb Dawg, IT Dawg, Menlo Dawg and some other dawg fans who are on the ready to bash AU.

I don't remember the fans being split on Pearl so much as them saying that Jacobs wouldn't hire him because of the way he runs the program. As far as anything that Alabama fans said about Pearl/Trooper would have also been said by Auburn fans if the shoe were on the other foot. Nature of being a fan.

In terms of uga fans, I have come to accept that the only thing they have is their moral superiority. They certainly don't have any recent titles, and likely won't under Richt. It must be frustrating to consistently watch your team implode when they get so close to success. Their moral superiority is a farce, but I will let them have it.

I disagree, and would ask for proof from AU posters on here. I remember posters on here willing to give their left nut to land him. The rest of your post, I agree with 100%.

You would think so, but you underestimate the gump nation.

Auburn's Felony Four happens. Bama fans point and laugh. Bama has 3 guys beat the frick out of 2 students and rob them. Allows one of them back, and say it's because he "didn't throw a punch".

Auburn brings in Nick Marshall, and bama fans point and laugh at AU being Thug U...they bring in Ty Flournoy-Smith.

Auburn commit Dee Liner gets arrested twice, and bama fans point and laugh. Then he commits to bama.

Nick Marshall gets popped for weed, and Bama fan's point and laugh at him getting a half game suspension. Kenyon Drake, Jarran Reed, and Dillon Lee get arrested...get spring training punishment.

Auburn has problems with Jovon Robinson's eligibility, and Bama fan's point and laugh. Then they recruit him.

Auburn takes Tray Matthews and Bama fan's point and laugh. Then they have to have the university president approve taking a female abuser.

Am I missing anything?

He can do a standing back flip fully padded. Pencil him in as the starter. Just don't let him around women! It will end badly.

Taylor could be an NFL caliber DT. He could be very, very good if you can turn his head around and get him serious about playing football.

If his latest legal troubles are the catalyst to do that, you have picked up an excellent run stopping gem.

If not, he will likely embarrass your program at some point - badly.

I once remember a time when the Recruiting Board was a safe haven from pissing matches...but those times have passed it seems

But yeah, Taylor would probably be starting going into next year. He's a big space eater type of guy. He's got the physical tools to do big things but I'm not sure if he's got enough between the ears to ever see the field for Saban and Kirby. We surely could use him right about now...I'll put it that way.

Wait, so UGA fans claim moral superiority because our HC coach kicked out a player for stealing and beating his girlfriend? Pretty sure any coach would have done that. I just want to see what you're getting at, because this thread's been pretty tame on this subject.

If this interrupts your talking point, my bad.

Wasn't this thread in particular. More a statement on UGA fans in general, or at least the many that I encountered when I lived in Chattanooga.

They are quick to bring up how Richt would never cheat like the Alabama schools, yet fail to explain how their players get in trouble consistently more often than players at many institutions. Uga fans talk about how much Alabama pays players, yet fail to explain how Alabama loses several recruiting battles to Georgia.

I realize there are exceptions to my post, but by and large there does seem to be a moral superiority complex among uga fans.

Did auburnphan sign into your account? This is right out of his playbook. What you just described is what fans do. Nothing you said is unique to UGA fans.

One thing Richt isn't doing is recruiting Jonathan Taylor. That's not perceived moral superiority or whatever you want to call it. That's fact.

This. Another pussy arse Auburn poster with UGA still on their mind. I call em how I see em, regardless of team.....wonder why Auburn fans take so much offense to it......

Nice to see I am so much in your head that you mention me in a thread I haven't posted in yet. I could give numerous examples of how Richt is not the angel Georgia fans make him out to be, but the recruiting board is probably not the place for such a discussion

I agree it isn't unique to uga fans, but it is prevalent moreso in uga fans than others, and a lot of that is probably due to a lack of tangible success on the football field. You have one of the most talent rich states in the southeast practically to yourselves and can't capitalize on it.

I've had interactions with several fan bases when I lived in Chattanooga and the sanctimonious,"at least we win with integrity" bs was more noticeable among uga fans than UT and Auburn fans, both teams that I hate.

Back to recruiting, I hope that we don't take him, but if we do the staff thinks they can keep him out of trouble or they will process him.

Hahaha. Love when people say this....this state isn't like Alabama, where people grow up either an Auburn fan or Bama fan their whole lives. Georgia is a huge melting pot. Not only do we have 3 FBS schools in our state, we are surrounded by top SEC schools.

We probably get our moral superiority complex because we don't spout off stupid shite all the time and don't kill people or trees when we lose a game.

If Georgia had recruited and signed DJ Pettway after he got dismissed from Alabama, y'all would be doing the same thing. It would have been ThUGA at it again.

Point is fans are all basically the same. If schools A, B, and C recruit players after school D kicked them out, fans of school D are going to talk shite about schools A, B, and C. It doesn't matter who those schools are or what the circumstances are.
